JESUS is alive with god (Koran 3,55;4,158,159)

Muhammad is dead and buried in Medina AWAITING JUDGMENT

'The Prophet said, '''By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me''' (Hadith vol. 5, no. 266).

Islam's prophet, Muhammad, believed Jesus was the Messiah, Allah's anointed messenger.  Allah's people (Muslims) are told to listen to Allah's messengers (Koran,
4.171; 5. 111*)..

Allah took Jesus to heaven where he awaits until the day of judgment when he will return to earth  (3,55). Muslim traditions teach that Muhammad died  not knowing  if he would be judged worthy to enter Paradise - where God has already placed Jesus.  Muhammad is Dead and buried in Saudi Arabia. Jesus is alive both with God in heaven (paradise) and in Spirit with his followers on Earth.  (Koran 3,55;4,158,159)

This is the great difference between Jesus and Muhammad according to the Quran/Koran.  Jesus is alive in Heaven with God and Muhammad is dead and buried. IN MEDINA, SAUDI ARABIA, STILL AWAITING GOD'S JUDGMENT.

Muhammad's revelations about Jesus contained in the Koran should be read by his followers, all Muslims, as the Koran requires.  The Qur'an/Koran proves Jesus is the Messiah and Muhammad did not replace him as final prophet.

MuhammadIslam's Prophet, believed Jesus was sent by Allah to be the Messiah, miraculously born of the Virgin Mary, who brought the Gospel, who died, was raised from the dead, then ascended into heaven to be with Allah.  Jesus would become an everlasting blessing to all mankind!

The Koran tells how Allah anointed Jesus, through a virgin birth to be the Messiah - Savior of the world, nearly five hundred and fifty years before Muhammad was born.

Muslims believe the Koran was written by God and is God's message to all people. If Jesus is what the Koran teaches he is/was, it is impossible for Muhammad to have replaced Jesus. There can be only one Messiah.

Jesus did the Messiah's work (opening heaven) 550 years before Islam's Prophet was born.

As God's messenger, Jesus explained, simplified, and demonstrated God's will and message, although the Jews did not believe in him.  Jesus' "Good News" - the Gospel - is about God's love and forgiveness for all mankind.  Muhammad's revelations,  recorded in the Koran/Qur'an teach that:

1. Jesus was sent by Allah, who supported him with the Holy Spirit to tell the world Allah's will  (2: 87; 5: 110-117*).

2.  Allah gave to the world Jesus, exalted him above all others, and supported him with the Holy Spirit as proof of his sovereignty  (2: 253*).

3.  Allah caused the miracle birth of John the Baptist to the aged Zechariah and his barren wife so John could be the messenger to announce Jesus as the Messiah (3: 33-41*).

4.  Allah appointed Mary to be the virgin mother of Jesus, the Messiah (3: 42-45; 19: 12-22; 21: 90*).

5.  Jesus would be righteous [sinless] all his life (3: 46; 6: 86; 19: 19*).

6.  Jesus would be raised from the dead (19: 33,34*).

7.  Jesus, Messiah and son of Mary, crucified, appeared dead and was taken up my Allah himself (4: 157,158; 3: 55*).  He did not "appear to be alive" because he was dead.  Crucifixion was the Roman method of execution similar to hanging.  No one survived being crucified.  See # 6. above.

8.  Jesus was a messenger of Allah, who is to be believed (4: 171*).

9.  Allah taught Jesus his religion and commanded Jesus to establish it (42: 13; 43: 63*).

10. Allah caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow [the prophets], gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him (57: 27*).

11.  Allah strengthened the group of Jews who believed Jesus and his message, so they overcame those who disbelieved (61: 14*).

12.  The true message of Jesus and the prophets was perverted by religious leaders who were condemned by Allah (9: 31*).

13.  Long before the Prophet MuhammadAllah revealed the Torah and the Gospel for mankind's guidance (3:  3, 4, 48, 65*).

14.  Allah taught Jesus the Scripture and wisdom, and the Torah and the Gospel.  Allah would do miracles through Jesus and make him a messenger to Israel  (3: 48, 49*).

15.  Allah gathered Jesus and caused him to be resurrected and ascended to Allah himself  (3: 55; 4:158*).

16.  Allah bestowed the Gospel on Jesus to be a light (5: 46*).

17.  Observing the Torah and the Gospel brings nourishment from above (5: 66*).

18.  Those who went astray from Allah's commands were cursed by both David and Jesus (5: 78*).

19.  Allah inspired Jesus' Disciples to believe in Jesus and his message (5: 110*).

20.  Jesus and his Disciples were Allah's helpers (61: 6,14*).

21.  Believe in all that was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and that which Moses and Jesus received (2: 136*).

22.  The Surrender, al-Islam, is Islam and Muslims are to be surrendered to Allah's will and guidance (3: 19*), as had been revealed to Abraham by God and explained by Jesus. (See www.abraham-101.org)/)

Because the Koran described Jesus, who ministered almost six hundred years before Muhammad, in the way it does, comparison of Jesus with Muhammad is necessary to understand the vast difference between these two.

Compare:
Jesus was the Messiah (the Anointed) who brought the Gospel - "Good News" to man as God's messenger.  As Messiah, he
made it possible for every person to be saved from the "Original Sin" of separation from God.

JESUS OPENED THE DOOR TO GOD! Jesus freed all people from Torah restrictions and opened our direct prayer line to God.

Those who pray to God are able to only because of what Jesus did for all mankind.  For the first time in history, every person could, and can, pray directly to the one God, creator of all things.  No Temple, priests, rules, dogmas, or liturgies are required for God to care about a person and hear one's prayers. ONLY because of Jesus, Muslims, and all others can talk to God anytime, from anywhere! Few people, and no Muslims, are aware of this historical fact.

That is the work the Messiah did, and the message of his Gospel - the Good News - God sent to the world through Jesus.
[See 16, above.  Allah bestowed the Gospel on Jesus (not Muhammad but Jesus) to be a light to the world (5, 46*)].

Jesus told the people that God loved them and would look after them, if they would submit to him.  He said we can best understand God as Father, or better as Abba - "Daddy."

Jesus said God would never leave or forsake them, would always hear their prayers, and forgive them all their sins.

Jesus said God's earlier instructions (Old Covenant in the Torah) to the Jews were now changed into a different and a New Covenant (http://www.gospel-101.org).  In the past, to please God one needed to obey and follow all 613 rules of Judaism.  So, it had been necessary to be a Jew who was under the LAW - the Torah - to be one of God's people.
(See http://www.judaism-101.org)

Jesus said all a person had to do to inherit eternal life was to believe he was sent by God, was telling the truth, and had opened the doors of Heaven so humans could enter into the Kingdom of Heaven [presence of God] while on earth.  Man no longer had to die to have at-one-ment, atonement, with God.

The idea of SURRENDER came with Abraham and was essential to Jesus' New Covenant, God's changed Covenant for all people.  Submission to God's will is an essential part of the Lord's Prayer, Matthew 6:10.

Your willingness to surrender control of your life, hopes, ideas and desires to God is required.   This is asking God to do his will in all areas of your life, followed by a prayer sincerely offering yourself to God to do with as God pleases.

Surrendering includes believing Jesus' New Covenant message.
Once this submission of self to God is seriously made, God puts his Holy Spirit  in the your "heart" and mind.  This act of God [Grace] is because of your attitude and your desire; not because of particular acts, works, or doctrines.  Then you will actually feel the love God in your heart, and know for sure that God has accepted you because of the born again, Pentecostal experience. You become a "Temple of the Holy Spirit."

The Prophet Muhammad, as recorded in the Koran, claimed he replaced Jesus as the final prophet.  So Muhammad declared his revelations [the Koran] replaced the message God delivered through Jesus.

Muhammad's replacement religion of Islam returned to many of the Jewish laws and customs, including food taboos.
Islam is a religious system of laws entirely different from the free grace Jesus preached.  Islam's surrender is to the Qur'an and not a direct surrender to God in Prayer.

I
n Islam, man still must surrender  to the will of Allah, but only to what is written in the Koran/Qur'an
The change  from Jesus' concept of self-surrender to Muhammad's concept is dramatic.  A person's surrender in Islam is now as slave to master, and no longer surrender because of  the love of child to parent.  Islam insists God has no children, only slaves.   Islam teaches that Muslims, and all people, are Allah's slavesMuslims must bow down to Allah five times a day in a slave's obeisance to him.

To Jesus, one's duty is to love [agape] God with all one's being and also to "love [agape] your neighbor as you love yourself" and to "pray without ceasing." Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to those who ask.  That Spirit of God, is given by grace, as God's gift and not by doing required works.  God  will "write his laws  on your heart and mind" and make you a "Temple of the Holy Spirit," and citizen of his "Holy Nation" - the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is  free grace given by God's love of his children and not by following any set of rules.  Islam gives no provision for this personal face-to-face relationship with ABBA - Father, that Jesus offered his followers. Islam gives no promise of entry into Paradise for following the Koran/Qur'an, except to jihad warriors killed in combat.

(A contemporary additional Islamic belief is that any Muslim who dies on the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca will immediately enter into "Paradise.")

Islam changes free grace to human duties of works - to obeying the Koran's rules.

The Koran teaches Allah is a merciful and forgiving God, but only for Muslims who obey Muhammad's revelations written in the Koran/Qur'an.  The Koran/Qur'an teaches that God will viciously punish any who do not "believe" (the unbelievers or infidels) in Muhammad and his revelations - Islam's first "Pillar."

The first of the five pillars of Islam is that a Muslim is anyone who believes the only deity is "Allah" and Muhammad is Allah's (final) prophet. The result is that a Muslim is required to believe the Koran/Qur'an because it contains Muhammad's prophecies.

In Islam, God's (Allah's) approval - now depends on following the Koraninstead of God's love and grace being  freely given by a loving heavenly Abba, Father.

The equality of all people [as neighbors] that God revealed through Jesus, is changed by the KoranMuslims are superior to "infidels" - unbelievers.  Men are superior to women (Koran 4: 34). Wives must be obedient servants of their husbands or be punished (Koran 4: 34).  Wives are required to follow the husband's will, in the same manner Muslims are to follow Allah's will, or be subject to their husband's punishment.  Click here for Muslim women information.

These are a few of the many changes Muhammad's revelations make in God's message earlier revealed through Jesus.  The biographical information on Muhammad  is on the Internet and in most libraries.  Click here for Muhammad's history.

A short course on Jesus can be found in the New Testament book of Matthew, chapters 1-10.  An explanation of Jesus' primary teachings is in  God-101.org and  can  be reached by clicking on the listing. Full discussions of Jesus' words and works are located in the "Gospels" of the New Testament - the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

The great differences between Jesus and Muhammad can easily be seen and understood when these foundation materials are studied.

Islam is not a continuation of Jesus' ministry, but contradicts Jesus completely. Jesus taught peace (Matthew 5:9, 38-48). The Qur'an teaches violence, and declares its God (Allah) requires cruel punishment of non-Muslim "infidels" - (Koran/Qur'an 8: 12; 9: 5: 9; 29: 9: 73; 47: 4; etc.).

Islam avoids confronting these contradictions by asserting all of the Bible is false and does not contain any reliable information.  Because of this unsupported myth, Islam-101 lists only what the Koran/Qur'an declares about Jesus.  No Bible statements are used on this webpage.

Once again, REMEMBER:

Muslims believe the Koran was written by God and is God's message to all people. If Jesus is what the Koran teaches he is/was,

It is impossible for Muhammad to replace Jesus. There can be only one Messiah. Jesus did the Messiah's work (opening heaven) 550 years before Islam's Prophet was born.  Only the resurrected Jesus can put a person in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Muhammad is dead and buried in the ground in Medina.  Jesus is alive in Heaven with God, our loving Father.

Islam Reviewed
12 - MORAL LIFE OF THE PROPHET MOHAMMED

The Christian refusal to recognize the prophethood of Muhammad is
annoying to most Muslims. They wonder why we fail to reciprocate
their recognition of the prophethood of Jesus. Our Muslim friends
should be aware of the fact that the recognition of a true prophet is
not based on mutual approval. If Muhammad was the "greatest" and
the "seal" of the prophets - if he provides a more sure and certain
way of getting to heaven than Jesus does - then Christians should not
hesitate to accept him. But a thorough investigation of a prophet must
take  place  before  he  is  received,  because  believing  a  prophet's
message can have eternal consequences for our souls.

During  the  course  of  our  investigation,  we  should  also  be
permitted to question a prophet's morality, and this includes Muham-
mad's. As the "Seal" of the prophets (an Islamic claim), and according to
the Koran, Muhammad was granted a special marital status by Allah.

Many Islamic historians admit that Muhammad married eleven wives.
Those who think his escapades with women a measure of his greatness,
admit that he had as many as twenty seven. In addition to these wives,
Muhammad was also commanded by Allah to keep as many concubines
(female captives in Jihad) as his right hand possessed. Pondering the
Koranic text that granted these special privileges to Muhammad, one
cannot resist the temptation to believe that Muhammad wanted the
unrestricted freedom to have as many women as he wished, and used his
"revelations" to prevent his wives and followers from placing any
limitations on his carnal cravings. That is not just an idle speculation:

The following "revelations" speak for themselves: (link)

"O prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom
thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand
possesses out of the prisoners of war whom God, has assigned
to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and
daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts who migrated [from
Mecca] with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her

soul to the prophet if the prophet wishes to wed her; - this only
for thee, and not for believers [at large]; we know what we
have appointed for them as to their wives and the  captives
whom their right hand possess; - in order that there should be
no difficulty for thee. And God is oft-forgiving, most merciful.
(Sura 33:50).

With fleets of wives at Muhammad's disposal, coupled with his special
privilege  to  have  as many  concubines  as  he  desired, Muhammad's
passion for women seemed to know no bounds. He even took the only
wife of his adopted son, Zaid. Zaid Ibn Haritha was Muhammad's freed
man and adopted son. Muhammad wedded Zaid to a beautiful lady
named Zainab,  but with the passage of time, Muhammad's heart began
to long for her. So on his visit to Zaid's abode, the prophet of Islam said:

"Praise belongeth unto  Allah who turneth the hearts of men as he
willeth." Zaid got the message and arranged to divorce his wife.
Muhammad knew quite well that nothing short of a new "revelation"
could save his face from this detestable act, so he dissuaded Zaid from
putting his wife away until the transaction could be sanctioned by a
"revelation" from Allah. Read the words of the following sura:

"Behold! thou didst say to one who had received the grace of
God and thy Favor: 'retain thou [in wedlock] thy wife, and fear
God.' But thou didst fear in thy heart that which God was about
to make manifest: thou didst fear the people, but it is more
fitting that thou shouldest fear God. Then when Zaid had
dissolved [his marriage] with her, with the necessary [formal-
ity], we joined her in marriage to thee: in order that in [the
future] there may be no difficulty to the believers in [the matter
of] marriage with the wives of their adopted sons, when the
later have dissolved with the necessary [formality] [their
marriage] with them. And God's command must be fulfilled."
(Sura 33:37)

The reason for these self-serving "revelations" is obvious: Zainab,
daughter of Jahsh, was Muhammad's cousin, and the Arabian custom
(before Islam) forbade marriage with the wives of their adopted sons
even after divorce.1 Can you imagine a religion that claims to promote

purity of heart and good moral conduct, permitting its prophet  - who
already had eleven wives plus numerous concubines - to take the only
wife of his own adopted son? The pathetic side of this recorded historic
incident is that Allah, supposedly the architect of justice and morality,
actually approved  of this despicable act. The doom of all who love
justice, holiness and righteousness is sealed if Allah, who condones this
kind of wickedness, is allowed to prevail.

On the other hand, the God of the holy Bible is against sin of any
kind, and will punish whoever commits it. There is no respect of persons
with the God of the Bible (Romans 2:11). If the Bible God were to be the
same as the Koranic Allah, then  He would have to apologize for
punishing the prophet David, who fell into a similar sin (2 Samuel 12:1-
12). Letters of apology would also need to be dispatched to the people
of Sodom and Gomorrah, whom God destroyed for immorality (Genesis
19:24-28).

While the Bible teaches that God is all powerful, it also teaches that
He is absolutely holy. The Bible God cannot exercise His power in a way
that contradicts His holy nature. The Christian God always acts in accord
with His holiness. The Bible God has never tolerated sin. If He did, He
would cease to be a holy God. That was why He cast Satan and his fallen
angels out of heaven. That  is why He punished Noah's generation,
Sodom and Gomorrah and the rest.

One of Islam's major ills is a faulty concept of God. Islam sees God
as a very powerful being who exercises his power capriciously. Who can
question him, they reason. Whereas the Bible God changes not. He is the
same, yesterday, today and forever.

Another example of prophet Muhammad's moral life is his affair with
Maryam - a Coptic girl presented to him by the governor of Egypt. He
slept with her on the day it was Hafsah's turn. In an attempt to defuse
Hafsah's anger, Muhammad swore never to touch the girl again. He then
commanded Hafsah to keep the matter secret from his other wives.
However, she disclosed the matter to them. Displeased at finding his
confidence betrayed, Muhammad disciplined the rest of his wives by
separating from them for one month, a time incidentally, which he spent
in Maryam's apartment. Call it a temporary divorce!

As expected, "revelations" poured down from Aljana. The revelations
not only favored Muhammad but also contained assurances of backing
from Allah, Gabriel, righteous believers and the angels:

"O Prophet! why holdest thou to be forbidden that which God
has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts
[wives] but God is oft-forgiving, most merciful. When the
Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts
[wives], and she then divulged [to another], and God made it
known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part.
Then when he told her thereof, she said 'who told thee these?'
He said 'He told me who knows and is well acquainted [with all
things]? If ye two turn in repentance, to Him, your hearts are
indeed so inclined; but if ye back up each other against him,
truly God is his protector, and Gabriel, and [every] righteous
one among those who believe, - and furthermore the angels
will back [him] up.'" (Sura 66:1,3,4).

As can be seen from the following Ayat, the Koran went on to absolve
Muhammad of any guilt in the incident, and to free him from censure if
similar cases were to arise in the future:

"It may be, if he divorced you [all], that God will give him in
exchange consorts [wives] better than you, - who submit [their
wills], who believe, who are devout, who turn to God in
repentance, who worship [in humility], who travel [for faith]
and fast, - previously married or virgins" (Sura 66:5).

Let's look at the incident honestly. Maryam who was at the center of this
episode was not legally married to Muhammad. Her position was that of
a concubine. Muhammad lay with her on the day due Hafsah, and Allah,
who is supposedly just in his judgement, or at least considerate,  is
portrayed as  sending down verdicts against Muhammad's wives for
daring to raise their eyebrows at his actions. However, another contradic-
tion arises here. Other "revelations" represent Allah as telling Muham-
mad to pray for the forgiveness of his sins:

"Verily, we have granted thee a manifest victory: that God may
forgive thee thy faults of the past and those to follow; and guide
thee on the straight path" (Sura 48:1-2).

Commentator Abbasi explains this to mean the offences which
Muhammad committed before he claimed to be a prophet, and those
that he was going to commit even until his death. Imam Al-Zamakhshari,
in his commentary says: "What went before of thy fault; i.e. the matter
of Zainab, and what followed after; i.e. the matter of Maryam (Mary the
Copt)." The meaning  of the Glorious Koran (Pickthall translation)
rendered Sura Muhammad, 19 thus:

"So know (O Muhammad) that there is no God save Allah, and
ask forgiveness for thy sin and for believing men and women,
Allah knoweth [both] your places of turmoil and your place of
rest" (Sura 47:19).

The Hadiths also pictured Muhammad as conscious of his sins, thereby
pleading for pardon.1

In the Koran, in every case where Muhammad's  actions are
questionable, Allah justifies his actions with "revelations." Muhammad's
affair with Zainab (his son's wife) is an example. Even Arabian pagans
regarded that behavior as an abomination. But, surprisingly enough, it
got the blessing of Allah whose standards of morality were supposedly
higher than those of Arabian pagans. Allah also supported Muhammad
in his liaison with Maryam, the Copt. Justifying Muhammad's behavior
while commanding him to ask forgiveness for his sins leaves room for
another possibility: that Muhammad had committed graver sins (not
recorded in the Koran) for which Allah is telling him to ask pardon.

 How Muhammad Treated His Opponents

A general misunderstanding of the Islamic world by western nations is
causing serious international tensions. Whenever the Islamic faithful
carry out their religious duties, they are tagged as terrorists. Americans
are so obsessed with the term "terrorist" that their government has
blacklisted a number of Islamic countries: Libya, Iran and Syria.

When Islamic suicide bombers, May 15 group, Abu Nidal, Hamas,
Islamic brotherhood, Mujahadin, Hisbollah, etc. carry out their religious
obligation against Israeli civilians, those who are ignorant of the
elementary principles of Islam call them all sorts of names. Those who

know nothing about Muhammad's writings are baffled when they hear
that the above mentioned groups have guerillas, assassins, kidnappers
and weapon experts all over the world,  including within the United
States itself. It is beyond Western understanding that a seemingly logical
people proudly take credit for blowing up airborne  planes (with
hundreds of innocent souls aboard), and other wanton murders, plus the
destruction of their property.

Why should a seemingly sane people choose violence, anarchy, war
and murder as a way of life, and even anticipate more of the same in
Aljana? Part of the answer lies in the way and manner that Muhammad,
the prophet of Islam, treated his opponents.  During his lifetime,
Muhammad sent assassin after assassin (today we call them "death
squads") to eliminate his opponents. He rained curses upon the ones his
assassins couldn't track down. Here are a few examples:

Muhammad sent Umayr b. Adi (Allah's helper) to kill Asthma bint
Marwan, a poetess who wrote against him. The assassin entered the
woman's abode at night and found her surrounded by her sleeping
children, including a suckling child whom he pushed away from her
breast.  He then drove his sword through her body, murdering her.
In another dreadful incident, Muhammad sent Salim b. Amir to
assassinate a 120 year old Jew whose poetry attacked Muhammad. On
hot summer nights, the Jew would sleep in the courtyard of his home.
Salim knew that, so he sneaked in and plunged his sword into the old
man's liver, killing him.

It is related by Ibn Hisham (quoting Ibn Ishaq) that Muhammad
said, "Whomsoever among the men of the Jews you overcome, kill him."
That was enough incitement for Muhaisah ibn Mas'ud, who subsequently
attacked and killed ibn Shunaimah, a Jewish merchant.

The story of the murder of Ka'b ibnu'l Ashraf is told in Ibn Hisham's
Siratur Rasul vol. 2, p. 25. Ka'b ibnu'l Ashraf returned to Medina and
praised the beauty of Muslim wives until the Muslims became annoyed.

The Apostle of Allah said, "Who is with me  in  the matter of Ibnu'l
Ashraf?" Muhammad ibn Malamah replied, "I am for thee in this affair,
O Apostle of Allah: I will kill him." He laid in ambush for three days,
neither eating nor drinking until, with the assistance of five assassins, he
killed Ka'b ibnu'l Ashraf.

Muhammad appointed five other assassins, Abdullah ibn utaik,
Masud ibn Sanan, Abdullah ibn Unais, Abu Quadatu'l Harith ibn Rab'i
and Khaza'i ibn Utaik, to go to Khaiba to murder Abi'l Huqaiq. The deed
was carried out successfully, to the supposed glory of Allah.

On another occasion, Muhammad praised Zaid for commanding the
brutal murder of an aged woman named Umm Kirfa. Her legs were tied
to camels. These were driven in different directions until the unfortunate
woman was torn asunder.

Muhammad also sent "Amr ibn Umayyah and jabbar ibn Sakhar from
Medina to Mecca to assassinate Abu Sufan ibn Harb. However, those
hired killers failed in their mission because the plot was uncovered
before they were able  to  strike." (Ibn Hishan Siratur Rasul vol. 3,
pp.89,90).

Some escaped Muhammad's hit squads, but they could not escape
his venomous outbursts. Since in Islam, love and mercy are regarded as
weaknesses, Muhammad was not expected to pardon those who
offended him. Vendetta is an extolled virtue in Islam. Listen to this one
of the suras of Koran that many Muslims believe supersedes the Holy
Bible:

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he! No profit to
him from all his wealth, and all his gains! Burnt soon will he be in
a fire of blazing flame! "His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood
- as fuel! - A twisted rope of Palm - leaf fibre around her (own)
neck!" (Sura 111:1-5).

This sura is dedicated solely to the cursing of one  of Muhammad's
uncles,  Abu Lahab, meaning father of Lahab, but nicknamed father of
flame because he rejected Muhammad's prophetic claims.
Since Muslims believe that every word, comma, semi-colon, full
stop, in the Koran is the word of Allah, we should take the above sura as
a "revelation" from him. It proves further that Allah has no love, no
mercy and no forgiveness, only cursing, killing, wars and judgment.
The indiscriminate assassination of people throughout the world by
Islamic faithfuls is nothing new. They are merely imitating the prophet
Muhammad, who after all, is the "perfect" model of correct Islamic

behavior. Ignorance of Islam is what makes western  journalist call
Islamic faithfuls "terrorists."

However, so-called terrorism is just what we see in  the physical
world. It is not the real problem. What we really have between Islam and
the West is a titanic but unseen spiritual battle that began in the garden
of Eden. It is a conflict between God and Satan, love and hatred, good
and evil, peace and war. Those battle-lines are clearly visible now. The
peace of Khalifah Haroun al-Rashid is over, and a militant Islam again
calls for a worldwide Jihad. 1

1 Editor's Note: The first Islamic Jihad ended in 786AD, when Khalifah Haroun al-
Rashid made peace with the Western nations. From then until this very century,
Islam remained primarily in the Middle East, and as a minority religion in Africa
and the Far East. Islam did not again pose a threat to world peace until after WW2,
when the West started sending vast sums of money to the Arab nations in exchange
for oil. That oil money has enabled the Middle East (the Leopard-Bear-Lion beast
of Revelation  13:1-9)  to  arm  itself with modern weaponry.  In  those  figurative
verses, the Bible clearly predicts there would be a 2nd Islamic Jihad just prior to
Jesus' return. That 2nd Jihad is visible today in the military and economic pressure
with which the Islamic states and the Palestinians are threatening Israel and the
West.
Revelation further shows that this Jihad would lead to Earth's final war, the
battle of Armageddon (Rev 16:12-16). Though Armageddon may spread over the
whole world, with up to 2,500,000,000 people killed, it will begin in the Middle
East and be of short duration. It will end with the return of the Lord Jesus. For

Forced Conversion and Prophet Muhammad

From "The Life of Muhammad"
The Prophet sent Khalid to Naklah to destroy the temple of al-Uzza. He did this and smashed the idol but he was sent back again. This time a wild black woman, completely naked, came charging at him but he was able to cut her down. Within two weeks two thousand Qurayshites had joined the Prophet's army. Hawajin who had a temple to al-Lat raised an army of twenty thousand men to defend their goddess.
....
The Prophet sent his followers to instruct the newcomers in Islam. Khalid and his sword were sent out to convert the remaining stragglers to the faith. Usually they were given three days to make up their minds. Jews and Christians were allowed to remain as such provided that they paid a golden dinar or its equivalent. The presence of all Muslims at Friday prayers was compulsorv.

From "Offensive War to Spread Islam"

"When Muhammad and his followers were about to attack Mecca to subjugate it to Islam, his adherents arrested Abu Sufyan, one of Mecca's inhabitants. They brought him to Muhammad. Muhammad told him: "Woe to you, O Abu Sufyan. Is it not time for you to realize that there is no God but the only God?" Abu Sufyan answered: "I do believe that." Muhammad then said to him: "Woe to you, O Abu Sufyan. Is it not time for you to know that I am the apostle of God?" Abu Sufyan answered: "By God, O Muhammad, of this there is doubt in my soul." The 'Abbas who was present with Muhammad told Abu Sufyan: "Woe to you! Accept Islam and testify that Muhammad is the apostle of God before your neck is cut off by the sword." Thus he professed the faith of Islam and became a Muslim." (Ibn Hisham, "The Biography of Muhammad" (Part 4, Page 11)

It is also mentioned and attested to by contemporary scholars such as Dr. Buti in his book, "The Jurisprudence of Muhammad's Biography", p. 277. He repeated it on page 287 because such stories incite the admiration of the Buti and bring him joy. Yet Dr. Buti feels that some people will protest, especially liberals and the civilized international society, who believe that faith in a certain creed ought not to be imposed by the threat of death. Therefore, he said (p. 287) the following:

"It may be said, 'What is the value of a faith in Islam which is a result of a threat? Abu Sufyan, one moment ago, was not a believer, then he believed after he was threatened by death.' We say to those who question: 'What is required of an infidel or the one who confuses other gods with God, is to have his tongue surrender to the religion of God and to subdue himself to the prophethood of Muhammad. But his heartfelt faith is not required at the beginning. It will come later."'
This is God in Islam, my dear friends—a God who is satisfied with the testimony of the tongue of a person who is under the threat of death. But "the heartfelt faith" will come later! The important thing is to increase the number of Muslims either by threat or by propagation!
Dr. Buti was more than frank, and we would like to thank him for that, yet we would like to tell him that Christianity rejects the testimony of the mouth if it does not stem from faith that is rooted in the heart first.

The story of Abu Sufyan reveals clearly that Muhammad does not care much about the faith of the heart, especially at the beginning, as Dr. Buti suggests. What is really important is that professing faith is a natural response to the threat of death. The threat is very clear: Testify that Muhammad is the apostle of God or you will be beheaded. The story concludes: Abu Sufyan professed the testimony of "truth" immediately!
In his book, "The Biography of the Apostle", part 4, Ibn Hisham says (page 134):
"Muhammad sent Khalid Ibn al-Walid to the tribe of the children of Haritha and told him: 'Call them to accept Islam before you fight with them. If they respond, accept that from them, but if they refuse, fight them.' Khalid told them: 'Accept Islam and spare your life.' They entered Islam by force. He brought them to Muhammad. Muhammad said to them: 'Had you not accepted Islam I would have cast your heads under your feet"' (refer to page 134, and also see Al Road Al Anf, part 4, pp. 217, 218. You will find the same incident).
We see in this story the main Islamic concept: First, an invitation to accept Islam, then war against those who refuse to do so. This was Muhammad's order to Khalid Ibn al-Walid. It is also noteworthy to examine Ibn Hisham's statement that "they entered Islam by force." Muhammad himself told them later: "Had you rejected Islam, I would have beheaded you and cast your heads under your feet." This was an undisputed threat: Either they accepted Islam or they would have been beheaded.

The brutal irony is that he uttered these words with ruthlessness and relentlessness instead of congratulating them on their new faith! What a strange man who failed to show any love or genuine compassion. His act was an act of a first-class terrorist. He did not congratulate them because he knew that they entered Islam by force. Is this man really the prophet of freedom, compassion, and human rights? Listen carefully! These oppressive attitudes and actions are as clear as the sun on a bright summer day. Muhammad's words are self-explanatory:
"Had you not accepted Islam I would have beheaded you and cast your heads under your feet!"
What human rights! What compassionate, kind, meek and noble characters! Undoubtedly, this alone is enough to uncover the dreadful dark side of Muhammad's character and his religion.
Azhar scholar Dr. Buti adds on p. 263 of his book:
"The apostle of God started to send military detachments from among his followers to the various Arab tribes which were scattered in the Arab Peninsula to carry out the task of calling (these tribes) to accept Islam If they did not respond, they would kill them. That was during the 7th Higira year. The number of the detachments amounted to ten."

No wonder all these tribes so quickly became apostate and relinquished Islam after the death of Muhammad. Abu Bakr Al Sadiq waged the aforementioned wars to force them to re-embrace Islam. Dr. Buti states this in chapter six of his book, under the title, "New Phase of the Mission". He quotes a statement made by Muhammad which proves that those wars were offensive wars. Muhammad said, "From now on, they will not invade you, but you will invade them."

In his book, "The Biography of the Prophet" (part 3, p. 113), Ibn Hisham relates this episode:
"Ali Ibn Abi Talib encountered a man called 'Umru and told him, 'I indeed invite you to Islam.' 'Umru said, 'I do not need that.' 'Ali said, 'Then I call you to fight.' (This was the same policy Muhammad used with those who rejected his invitation.) 'Umru answered him, 'What for my nephew? By God, I do not like to kill you.' 'Ali said, 'But, by God, I love to kill you"' (see Al Road Al Anf part 3, p. 263).
It is obvious from the dialogue that 'Umru does not like fighting because he does not want to kill 'Ali while he is defending himself. He wonders, "What for? I do not want to embrace Islam." But 'Ali says to him, "By God I love to kill you," and he did kill him.
We would like to conclude these stories by relating another moving episode which the Muslim Chroniclers recorded, among them, Isma'il Ibn Kathir in his book, "The Prophetic Biography" (part 3, p. 596). Ibn Kathir says that Muhammad's followers met a man and asked him to become a Muslim. He asked them, "What is Islam?" They explained that to him. He said, "What if I refuse it? What would you do to me?" They answered, "We would kill you." Despite that, he refused to become a Muslim and they killed the poor man after he went and bade his wife farewell. She continued to weep over his corpse for days until she died of grief over her slain beloved who was killed for no reason.

On page 384, we read the following:
"Islamic law demands that before Muslims start fighting infidels (unbelievers), they first deliver the message of Islam to them. It was proven that the prophet never fought people before he called them to embrace Islam first. He used to command his generals to do so also."
Dr. 'Afifi (along with the Azhar scholars who revised his book) boasts that the prophet never fought anybody before he called them to Islam first! Those people fail to realize that human rights emphasize that when you call people to embrace any religion and they refuse to do so, you must leave them alone! You are not to fight them in order to force them to accept the new religion as Muhammad and his followers did.
We did not say that Muhammad did not call them to believe in Islam first. We acknowledge that, but we blame him because whenever they rejected his invitation, he fought and killed them Are these the human rights? Don't you understand, Dr. 'Afifi? Do Muhammad's teachings make you so blind that you fail to see the simplest principles of human rights? Do you not respect man's freedom to believe in whatever he wants? Muhammad had the right to call people to embrace Islam and to commission Khalid along with his followers to carry out this task; but he did not have the right to kill them if they refused to accept Islam.
Dr. 'Afifi says that eight kings and princes declined to accept Muhammad's mission; thus it was incumbent on the Muslims to fight them. We ask him: Why it was incumbent on them to fight those kings and princes? Is their refusal to accept Islam a reason for the Muslims to fight them? "Yes!" This is what all Muslim scholars say, without exception.
Let the people of the West and of the East ponder these events which took place in the course of Islamic history and during

In his book, "The Methodology of Islamic Law", Dr. Muhammad al-Amin says (page 17):
"God had made it clear to us that (we should) call for acceptance of Islam first, then wage war. It is not admissible to wage war before extending the invitation to embrace Islam first, as the Qur'an says. 'We verily sent our messenger with clear proofs and revealed to them the scripture and the balance, that mankind may observe right measure, and he revealed iron, wherein is mighty power and uses for mankind and that Allah (God) may know him who helps Him and his messengers—Allah is strong, Almighty"' (Surah Iron 57:25).
Thus, God's words are, "We sent down iron, which has powerful might", followed His saying, "We have sent our apostles with signs." This denotes that if the signs and books fail, then unleash the sword against them, as the Muslim poet said, "The Book (Qur'an) offers guidance, and he who does not turn away (from evil) by the guidance of the book, He will be kept straight by the squadrons."
The reader may be confused and want to inquire about Muhammad's policy in spreading his mission. They may question his orders to his generals and his explicit attitude towards Abu Sufyan and say, "These attitudes prove to us that Islam forces people to accept it. The case is not limited to ignoring people's freedom and confiscating their properties only or sentencing the apostate to death, but it also calls for slaying whoever rejects Islam. What is the opinion of the scholar about that? Is force used as compulsion in accepting this religion?"
The Muslim scholars say, "Yes." There is compulsion used in accepting Islam, but this applies only to pagans and those who are irreligious. For Christians and Jews, the orders are to fight them and subject them to the ordinances of Islam, making them pay a poll-tax. In this case, they are spared death and are allowed to keep their faith. They are not forced to embrace Islam because they have three options—become Muslims, fight, or pay the poll-tax. The irreligious have two options only: death or Islam. This is what the Muslim scholars say, and the Qur'an itself teaches the same.

Ibn Hazm and al-Baydawi
In volume 8, part 11, on page 196 Ibn Hazm remarks decisively,
"The prophet Muhammad did not accept from the Arab heathens less than Islam or the sword. This is compulsion of faith. No compulsion in faith (or religion) applies only to Christians or Jews because they are not to be forced to embrace the religion. They have the option either to embrace Islam, the sword, or to pay the poll-tax. In this case they can keep their own faith. It was truly said on the authority of the apostle of God that there is no compulsion in the faith.
"When the sacred months elapse, kill those who associate other gods with God, wherever you find them" (Surah 9:5).
The Imam al-Baydawi offers us (page 58 of his commentary) exactly the same interpretation.

Abu Bakr El Sadiq
In Al Road Al Anf (part 4, p. 240), Ibn Hisham indicates that Abu Bakr (the daily companion of Muhammad and among the first who believed in him) used to converse with Ibn Abu Rafi al-Ta'i and to say to him:
"God—to whom belong the might and exaltation—has sent Muhammad with this religion for which he fought until people entered this religion by hook or by crook."
This phrase, I believe, is self-explanatory—"by crook" !
The Imam al-Shafi'i
In his famous book, "The Ordinances of Qur'an" (page 50 of the second part), the Shafi'i says:
"The apostle of God defeated the people until they entered Islam by hook or by crook."
Again we have this clear declaration—"by crook". This is what actually happened.

The Qur'an Exposes the Aggressive Nature of Islam
The Qur'anic verses reveal to us the aggressive, hostile nature of the Islamic mission and of Muhammad. The Qur'an includes verses pertaining to fighting against infidels, as well as other verses related to Holy War against Christians and Jews.

Pertaining to the Infidels
"But when the sacred months elapse, then fight and slay the pagans wherever you find them and seize them, besiege them and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war). But if they repent and establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity, then open the way for them for Allah is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful" (Surah 9:5).Koran
How did Muslim scholars and chroniclers interpret this verse in order to understand what Muhammad did after the conquest of Mecca and its occupation?

The Jalalan
In this commentary, which was published by the Azhar in 1983 (page 153), the authors say decisively,
"The chapter of Repentance was revealed to raise the level of security which the infidels enjoyed because Muhammad had earlier made a covenant with them not to kill them. After that, this verse was given (9:5) in order to free God and Muhammad from any covenant with the infidels. It gives them four months in which they will be protected, but by the end of the four months (the end of the grace period), the order comes: Kill the infidels wherever you find them. Capture them, besiege them in their castles and fortresses until they are forced to accept Islam or be killed."
As you see, this verse was inspired in order to free Muhammad (and God) from any peaceful and protective covenant which Muhammad made with the people of Mecca, as if the covenant were shameful behavior from which Muhammad (and his God) must free themselves. Nothing remains after that, except the pledge of war and massacre, as Ibn Hisham says later.

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya.
Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya's book was published in Saudi Arabia (second edition) in 1981. In part 5, p. 90, this famous scholar tells us the following:
"When the prophet migrated from Mecca to Medina, God ordered him to fight those who fought him only. Then when the chapter of Repentance was revealed, God commanded His prophet to fight anyone who did not become a Muslim from among the Arabs, whether (that person) fought him or not. He did not command him to take the poll-tax from infidels."
This means that Arabs did not have a choice. They either had to embrace Islam or die by the sword. It is obvious then that God (according to the above interpretation) had ordered His prophet to fight anyone from among the Arabs who refused to become a Muslim whether he fought against Muhammad or not. This is overt aggression and unjustified attack against peaceful people.

Ibn Hisham: - Al Sohaily
In his book, "al-Rawd al-Anaf" which is the most famous book about Muhammad's life (part 4, p. 194), we read the following text:
"When Muhammad conquered Mecca and the Arabs realized that they were not able to wage war against Muhammad, they accepted the Islamic faith. But some of the infidels continued to be as they were. (They used to make pilgrimages also because this practice was in vogue among the people hundreds of years before Muhammad). Then suddenly Muhammad sent someone to announce to the Tribe of Quraysh that no pilgrimage would be allowed for the infidels after that year (9H); none would enter paradise unless he were a Muslim. Muhammad was going to give the infidels a respite for four months, and after that there would not be a covenant except the covenant of the sword and war (lit: piercing and the strike of the sword). After this period, people entered Islam by hook or by crook, and anyone who did not become a Muslim fled the Arabian Peninsula."
Ibn Hisham already quoted Muhammad's famous words:
"No two religions are to exist in the Arab Peninsula" (pp. 50, 51).
Ibn Kathir, Al-Baydawi-al-Tabari (The Pillars of Islam)
Isma'il Ibn Kathir reiterates the above interpretation on page 336 of his commentary. He also asserts that this verse (9:5) is the verse of the sword which abrogated any previous covenant between the prophet and the infidels. On pp. 246 and 247, the Baydawi borrows Ibn Kathir's explanation and indicates to us the four months which were Shawal, Dhu al-Qu'da, Dhu al-Hijja and Muharram. The Baydawi adds that after the elapse of these four months, the infidels must be taken as prisoners lest they enter Mecca. In this case, they don't have any choice except either to embrace Islam or to be killed. Al Tabari said the same words and the same explanation on p. 206, 207 of his commentary dar-el-Sheroq.
Dr. Muhammad Sa'id al-Buti
We would like to conclude our discussion about this verse by referring to the opinion of one of the most eminent scholars of Azhar and the Islamic world. In his book, "The Jurisprudence of the Biography", he says,
"The verse (9:5) does not leave any room in the mind to conjecture about what is called defensive war. This verse asserts that Holy War which is demanded in Islamic law, is not defensive war (as the Western students of Islam would like to tell us) because it could legitimately be an offensive war. That is the apex and most honorable of all Holy wars" (pp. 323, 324).
Dr. Sa'id, I wish that Westerners would actually believe your statement! I wish that Western people would drop any notion that Holy war is a defensive war! You really astonish me, though, because you regard the offensive war designed to spread the faith to be legal as if you had never heard of an agency in New York called the United Nations or of human rights. You even say that offensive war is "the apex and the most honorable Holy War" among all wars!

Pertaining to the People of the Book
Explicitly and shamelessly, the Qur'an declares (Chapter of Repentance, 9:29),
"Fight against those who have been given the scripture but believe not in Allah nor the last day, and who forbid not that which Allah has forbidden by His messenger, and who follow not the religion of truth, until they pay the tribute willingly, being brought into submission" (p. 182, English copy by Saudi Arabian scholars).
Muslim scholars have agreed on the interpretation of this transparent verse by which all the Muslim warriors were guided in their offensive, violent wars against peaceful people.

The Baydawi
In his book, "The Lights of Revelation", a commentary on the Qur'an, he remarks,
"Fight Jews and Christians because they violated the origin of their faith and they do not believe in the religion of the truth, namely Islam, which abrogated all other religions. Fight them until they pay the poll-tax with submission and humiliation" (page 252).

Ibn Hisham Al Sohaily
In his book, "The Biography of the Apostle" (Al Road Al Anf, part 4, p. 201), Ibn Hisham repeats the above-mentioned quotation and adds,
"The poll-tax is to be paid by the Christian or the Jew forcibly and submissively. It is to spare their lives; that is, they pay it in lieu of being killed because if they did not pay it, they would be killed unless they intended to become Muslims, then they would be exempted from paying it."
The Shafi'i:
Lastly, we would like to refer to the Shafi'i's statement in his book, "The Ordinances of the Qur'an" (part 2, p. 50),
"The apostle of God killed and captured (many) of the people of the Book until some of them embraced Islam, and he imposed the poll-tax on some others."
For God's sake, Muhammad! You killed and captured Jews and Christians, who believe in one God—the followers of Moses and Jesus—and forced them either to embrace Islam or to pay the poll-tax!

Moses is highly-regarded in both the Christian and Islamic faiths. He was a descendent of the tribe of Levi, one of the twelve sons of Jacob, who was renamed Israel. Muhammad's genealogy is not mentioned in the Koran, but he is said to be a descendent of Ishmael, NOT Israel.

According to Deuteronomy 18:15, Moses told the children of Israel that God would raise up a Prophet who will be like him 'of thy brethren.' Therefore, he must be a descendent of Abraham's promised son Jacob, not Ishmael:

Deut 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.

Christian teaching is that a prophet who makes a prediction that doesn't occur is not a prophet sent by the LORD, and this was actually said by Moses himself:-

Deu 18:18 I will raise up a prophet like you [ie Moses] for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.
Deu 18:19 I will personally hold responsible anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet speaks in my name.
Deu 18:20 "But if any prophet presumes to speak anything in my name that I have not authorized him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.
Deu 18:21 Now if you say to yourselves, 'How can we tell that a message is not from the LORD?' -
Deu 18:22 whenever a prophet speaks in my name and the prediction is not fulfilled, then I have not spoken it; the prophet has presumed to speak it, so you need not fear him."

Islam has made many prophecies and predictions that have not occurred - see "http://answering-islam.org/Shamoun/false_prophecies.htm"
Denying that Jesus is God's Son makes that person one of many antichrists to come:-

1Jn 2:18 Little children, it is a last hour, and as you heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have risen up, from which you know that it is a last hour.
1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they were of us, they would have remained with us; but they left so that it might be revealed that they all are not of us.
1Jn 2:20 And you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
1Jn 2:21 I did not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because every lie is not of the truth.
1Jn 2:22 Who is the liar, except the one denying, saying that Jesus is not the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23 Everyone denying the Son does not have the Father. The one confessing the Son also has the Father.

Answer

By applying the requirements of a prophet from both the Old Testament (Jewish Theology) combined with Christian New Testament theology, Muhammad must be regarded a false prophet.

Moses set the criterion for prophets to come from among the tribes of Israel - the Jewish people. Muhammad was not an Israelite. Many Muslims fallaciously point to this as proof that Muhammad was a prophet and claim that Muhammad's alleged descent from Ishmael would suffice. However, examination of the scriptures prove otherwise.

In regard to Christian theology, Jesus set the criterion whereby a false prophet can be distinguished. Many of these features fit the message delivered by Islam.

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
Matthew 7:15 (ESV)

Muhammad was a violent warlord who violated the commandments of God in the Old and New Testament. He was an aggressor and was personally involved in the slaughter of thousands of people as well as the enslavement of children.

Muhammad, who claimed to be a prophet, was like a ravenous wolf.

In the next verse Jesus tells us the manner by which we may recognise these false prophets.

"You will recognize them by their fruits."
Matthew 7:16 (ESV)

Muhammad bore bad fruit. In his time Muhammad trained his followers to be ravenous warriors - slaughtering innocent tribes, stealing from innocent tribes and merchants, murderous savages killing anyone who criticised Muhammad's self proclamation to prophethood, Followers of Muhammad have a track record of being bad fruit - constantly ignoring God's commandments in favor of Muhammad's unrighteous proclamations.

Some examples of Muhammad directly conflicting with what Jesus commanded:

"And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others.Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Matthew 6:5-6

In Islam, those who pray in public so that all can see are considered 25 or 27 times better than those who pray in private (Note, the contradiction of being either 25 times better or 27 times better.)

"And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Matt 6:7-8 (ESV)

Muhamad went directly against this commandment, once again. In Islam prayer is repetitive recitations of Surahs in Arabic. Statistically, most people reciting these empty Surahs do not understand the words or language they are saying.

These are just some of the warnings of false prophets that Muhammad fits as set out in the New Testament.

WARNING
The answer below mine is a horrendous joke riddled with blasphemy against the Bible. It is full of mindless Zakir Naik/Ahmed Deedat propaganda and demonstrates many elementary and basic misunderstandings of what the Bible says.

This is my clearing up of the false claims made below in the 'Islamic Opinion' section

For example, Deut 18:18 says that the prophet will come from AMONG THE ISRAELITES. Muhammad was NOT an Israelite. Therefore, the prophecy directly excludes Muhammad.

Any alternative claim to this requires ignoring what the prophecy claims. This is unscholarly and illogical.

I will raise up a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell the people everything I command him.
Deut 18:18 NLT

Similarly, the verse states that God (Yahweh) will put his words directly into the prophets mouth just like with all the other prophets of the Bible. Muhammad did not receive any revelations directly from God into his mouth. Muhammad allegedly received revelations from an angel claiming to be from God. At this time, it is logical to note that Satan was a fallen angel. Whether or not the prophecies were received from a fallen angel or Muhammad's over active imagination - I will not speculate. But what is certain is that Islamic sources tell us that God did not directly put his words into Muhammad's mouth.

Regarding their claim in Deuteronomy 34:10 they go on to prove their illogical behaviour at an all new level. I honestly am confused as to what they are trying to imply and I fail to see any logical rational behind it. The verse reads:

Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, or all the signs and wonders which the LORD sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land, and for all the mighty power and for all the great terror which Moses performed in the sight of all Israel.
Deut 34:10-12

The writer below manages to interpret that statement as saying that, "God swt says that there will raise no prophet like Moses as in Israël, after his dead". The verse obviously makes no such claim.

The verse does not say that no one from among the Israelites will be a prophet. It clearly states, "Since that time no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses". The verse is simply saying that the prophecy set out in Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18 has not been fulfilled.

To then go on and say that this means the prophet will be an Arab makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

As is evident, the verse has nothing to do with Muhammad. In fact, it sets down criterion which directly exclude Muhammad as being the prophet.

Answer

By the standards of Jewish and Christian theology embodied within the Bible, Muhammad was a false prophet. Muhammad within the Qur'an claimed he would be found within the Bible, however, there is not a single prophecy of Muhammad within the entire Bible.

Muslims frantacilly search for verses in the Bible but this is a fruitless search. By Muhammad's own criteria, he is not a prophet of God.

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee(Moses), and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

Comment: interesting!, so there will be a prophet risen that must be like Moses pbuh. We can say for that "their" is the jews(some say the whole world and not only jews). And that we do not know what "bretheren" means, because of the semetic language culture, so the word has many meanings!

ok, now let's see the other verse(s).

Deuteronomy chapter 34 is going about the dead of Moses as.

[34:10] Since then(dead of Moses), no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.

So it must be a prophet from another nation, because God swt says that there will raise no prophet like Moses pbuh in Israël, after his dead. This verse says, there will be risen prophets in Israel, but not one of them is like Moses pbuh. So this verse excludes every prophet that is born (or from) Israel.

This verse also proofs the fact that the word "bretheren" (deuteronomy 18:18) is revering to the arabs and not to the jews. If it is not Muhammed pbuh, than we are still waiting for this prophet.

(And there are bible translations with the word "israelites" in stead of "bretheren", this translation is a false one, because in hebrew tekst (original) it says bretheren, not israelites. (it is the same as translating baqara(arabic word for cow) to ox (english word) so that english people will think that it was the ox, and not the cow.).

.

So if we first read Deuteronomy 32:21, then 34:10 and then 18:18, you will understand why the prophet mentioned in deuteronomy 18:18 is Mohammed pbuh and why Jews(and Christians) did not accept him.

"and I (God Almighty) will move them (the Jews) to jealousy with those (the Arabs) which are NOT A PEOPLE (a non-entity): I will provoke them (the Jews) to anger with a FOOLISH NATION," |the pre-Islamic Arabs)

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee(Moses), and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

" Since then(Moses's dead), no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face."

.

And Mohammed's (pbuh) grandfathers are Ismaël and Abraham (pbut).

proof: The genacology of Mohammed pbuh.

Proof that Muhammed pbuh was not the prophet of deuteronomy 18:18?

God sent the angel Gabriel* to teach Muhammad* the exact words that he should repeat to the people. This fact contradicts Deuteronomy 18:18 as Muhammad received his revelation through the angel Gabriel (Jibreel) and not directly from God as the prophecy tells.

Muhammed pbuh did speak directly with God swt, just like Moses pbuh.

Proof: The mi'raaj + Isra (Night journey) that is mentioned in

Surah 17 verse 1 & 60, surah 53 verse 1 to 20,

In Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 93, Number 608:

...Then Moses stopped him when the prayers had been reduced to five and said, "O Muhammad! By Allah, I tried to persuade my nation, Bani Israel to do less than this, but they could not do it and gave it up. However, your followers are weaker in body, heart, sight and hearing, so return to your Lord so that He may lighten your burden."

The Prophet turned towards Gabriel for advice and Gabriel did not disapprove of that. So he ascended with him for the fifth time. The Prophet said, "O Lord, my followers are weak in their bodies, hearts, hearing and constitution, so lighten our burden." On that the Irresistible(Allah) said, "O Muhammad!" the Prophet replied, "Labbaik and Sa'daik." Allah said, "The Word that comes from Me does not change, so it will be as I enjoined on you in the Mother of the Book." Allah added, "Every good deed will be rewarded as ten times so it is fifty (prayers) in the Mother of the Book (in reward) but you are to perform only five (in practice)."

Sahih bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 228:

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

Regarding the Statement of Allah" "And We granted the vision (Ascension to the heavens) which We made you see (as an actual eye witness) was only made as a trial for the people." (17.60)

Ibn Abbas added: The sights which Allah's Apostle was shown on the Night Journey when he was taken to Bait-ulMaqdis (i.e. Jerusalem) were actual sights, (not dreams). And the Cursed Tree (mentioned) in the Quran is the tree of Zaqqum (itself) .

So the prophet did not dream the journey!

.

Quran 6:91

No just estimate of Allah do they make when they say: "Nothing doth Allah send down to man (by way of revelation)" Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Moses brought?- a light and guidance to man: But ye make it into (separate) sheets for show, while ye conceal much (of its contents): therein were ye taught that which ye knew not - neither ye nor your fathers." Say: "Allah (sent it down)", then leave them to plunge in vain discourse(talk) and trifling.

    Prophet Muhammad
    Wrote God's Revelations
    With His Own Hand

The first revelation was "Read," and included the statement "God teaches by means of the pen" (96:1-4), and the second revelation was "The Pen" (68:1). The only function of the pen is to write.

Ignorant Muslim scholars of the first two centuries after the Quran could not understand the Quran's challenge to produce anything like it. They had no idea about the Quran's mathematical composition, and they knew that many literary giants could have composed works comparable to the Quran. In fact, many such literary giants did claim the ability to produce a literary work as excellent as the Quran. The latest claim came from Taha Hussein, the renowned Egyptian writer.

The ignorant Muslim scholars then decided to proclaim Muhammad an illiterate man! They figured that this would make the Quran's extraordinary literary excellence truly miraculous. The word they relied on to bestow illiteracy upon the Prophet was "UMMY." Unfortunately for those "scholars," this word clearly means "Gentile," or one who does not follow any scripture (Torah, Injeel, or Quran) [see 2:78, 3:20 & 75, 62:2]; it does NOT mean "illiterate."

The Prophet was a successful merchant. The "Muslim scholars" who fabricated the illiteracy lie forgot that there were no numbers during the Prophet's time; the letters of the alphabet were used as numbers. As a merchant dealing with numbers every day, the Prophet had to know the alphabet, from one to one-thousand.

The Quran tells us that Muhammad wrote down the Quran - Muhammad's contemporaries are quoted as saying, "These are tales from the past that he wrote down. They are being dictated to him day and night" (25:5). You cannot "dictate" to an illiterate person. The Prophet's enemies who accuse him of illiteracy abuse Verse 29:48, which relates specifically to previous scriptures.

On the 27th night of Ramadan 13 B.H. (Before Hijerah), Muhammad the soul, the real person, not the body, was summoned to the highest universe and the Quran was given to him (2:97, 17:1, 44:3, 53:1-18, 97:1-5). Subsequently, the angel Gabriel helped Muhammad release a few verses of the Quran at a time, from the soul to Muhammad's memory. The Prophet wrote down and memorized the verses just released into his mind. When the Prophet died, he left the complete Quran written down with his own hand in the chronological order of revelation, along with specific instructions as to where to place every verse. The divine instructions recorded by the Prophet were designed to put the Quran together into the final format intended for God's Final Testament to the world (75:17). The early Muslims did not get around to putting the Quran together until the time of Khalifa Rashed `Uthmaan. A committee was appointed to carry out this task.

Verses from the Koran

By Sam Harris

Open the Koran, which is perfect in its every syllable, and simply read it with the eyes of faith. You will see how little compassion need be wasted on those whom God himself is in the process of "mocking," "cursing," " shaming," "punishing," "scourging," "judging," "burning," "annihilating," "not forgiving," and "not reprieving." God, who is infinitely wise, has cursed the infidels with their doubts. He prolongs their life and prosperity so that they may continue heaping sin upon sin and all the more richly deserve the torments that await them beyond the grave. In this light, the people who died on Sept. 11 were nothing more than fuel for the eternal fires of God's justice. To convey the relentlessness with which unbelievers are vilified in the text of the Koran, I provide a long compilation of quotations below, in order of their appearance in the text. This is what the Creator of the universe apparently has on his mind (when he is not fussing with gravitational constants and atomic weights):

"It is the same whether or not you forwarn them [the unbelievers], they will have no faith" (2:6).

"God will mock them and keep them long in sin, blundering blindly along" (2:15).

A fire "whose fuel is men and stones" awaits them (2:24).

They will be "rewarded with disgrace in this world and with grievous punishment on the Day of Resurrection" (2:85).

"God's curse be upon the infidels!" (2:89).

"They have incurred God's most inexorable wrath. An ignominious punishment awaits [them]" (2:90).

"God is the enemy of the unbelievers" (2:98).

"The unbelievers among the People of the Book [Christians and Jews], and the pagans, resent that any blessing should have been sent down to you from your Lord" (2:105).

"They shall be held up to shame in this world and sternly punished in the hereafter" (2:114).

"Those to whom We [God] have given the Book, and who read it as it ought to be read, truly believe in it; those that deny it shall assuredly be lost" (2:122).

"[We] shall let them live awhile, and then shall drag them to the scourge of the Fire. Evil shall be their fate" (2:126).

"The East and the West are God's. He guides whom He will to a straight path" (2:142).

"Do not say that those slain in the cause of God are dead. They are alive, but you are not aware of them" (2:154).

"But the infidels who die unbelievers shall incur the curse of God, the angels, and all men. Under it they shall remain for ever; their punishment shall not be lightened, nor shall they be reprieved" (2:162).

"They shall sigh with remorse, but shall never come out of the Fire" (2:168).

"The unbelievers are like beasts which, call out to them as one may, can hear nothing but a shout and a cry. Deaf, dumb, and blind, they understand nothing" (2:172).

"Theirs shall be a woeful punishment" (2:175).

"How steadfastly they seek the Fire! That is because God has revealed the Book with truth; those that disagree about it are in extreme schism" (2:176).

"Slay them wherever you find them. Drive them out of the places from which they drove you. Idolatry is worse than carnage. . . . [I]f they attack you put them to the sword. Thus shall the unbelievers be rewarded: but if they desist, God is forgiving and merciful. Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme. But if they desist, fight none except the evil-doers"(2:190–93).

"Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it. But you may hate a thing although it is good for you, and love a thing although it is bad for you. God knows, but you know not" (2:216).

"They will not cease to fight against you until they force you to renounce your faith—if they are able. But whoever of you recants and dies an unbeliever, his works shall come to nothing in this world and in the world to come. Such men shall be the tenants of Hell, wherein they shall abide forever. Those that have embraced the Faith, and those that have fled their land and fought for the cause of God, may hope for God's mercy" (2:217–18).

"God does not guide the evil-doers" (2:258).

"God does not guide the unbelievers" (2:264).

"The evil-doers shall have none to help them" (2:270).

"God gives guidance to whom He will" (2:272).

"Those that deny God's revelations shall be sternly punished; God is mighty and capable of revenge" (3:5).

"As for the unbelievers, neither their riches nor their children will in the least save them from God's judgment. They shall become fuel for the Fire" (3:10).

"Say to the unbelievers: ‘You shall be overthrown and driven into Hell—an evil resting place!'" (3:12).

"The only true faith in God's sight is Islam. . . . He that denies God's revelations should know that swift is God's reckoning" (3:19).

"Let the believers not make friends with infidels in preference to the faithful—he that does this has nothing to hope for from God—except in self-defense" (3:28).

"Believers, do not make friends with any but your own people. They will spare no pains to corrupt you. They desire nothing but your ruin. Their hatred is evident from what they utter with their mouths, but greater is the hatred which their breasts conceal" (3:118).

"If you have suffered a defeat, so did the enemy. We alternate these vicissitudes among mankind so that God may know the true believers and choose martyrs from among you (God does not love the evil-doers); and that God may test the faithful and annihilate the infidels" (3:140).

"Believers, if you yield to the infidels they will drag you back to unbelief and you will return headlong to perdition. . . .We will put terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. . . . The Fire shall be their home" (3:149-51).

"Believers, do not follow the example of the infidels, who say of their brothers when they meet death abroad or in battle: ‘Had they stayed with us they would not have died, nor would they have been killed.' God will cause them to regret their words. . . . If you should die or be slain in the cause of God, God's forgiveness and His mercy would surely be better than all the riches they amass" (3:156).

"Never think that those who were slain in the cause of God are dead. They are alive, and well provided for by their Lord; pleased with His gifts and rejoicing that those they left behind, who have not yet joined them, have nothing to fear or to regret; rejoicing in God's grace and bounty. God will not deny the faithful their reward" (3:169).

"Let not the unbelievers think that We prolong their days for their own good. We give them respite only so that they may commit more grievous sins. Shameful punishment awaits them" (3:178).

"Those that suffered persecution for My sake and fought and were slain: I shall forgive them their sins and admit them to gardens watered by running streams, as a reward from God; God holds the richest recompense. Do not be deceived by the fortunes of the unbelievers in the land. Their prosperity is brief. Hell shall be their home, a dismal resting place" (3:195–96).

"God has cursed them in their unbelief" (4:46).

"God will not forgive those who serve other gods besides Him; but He will forgive whom He will for other sins. He that serves other gods besides God is guilty of a heinous sin. . . . Consider those to whom a portion of the Scriptures was given. They believe in idols and false gods and say of the infidels: ‘These are better guided than the believers'" (4:50–51).

"Those that deny Our revelation We will burn in fire. No sooner will their skins be consumed than We shall give them other skins, so that they may truly taste the scourge. God is mighty and wise" (4:55–56).

"Believers, do not seek the friendship of the infidels and those who were given the Book before you, who have made of your religion a jest and a pastime" (5:57).

"That which is revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase the wickedness and unbelief of many among them. We have stirred among them enmity and hatred, which will endure till the Day of Resurrection" (5:65).

"God does not guide the unbelievers" (5:67).

"That which is revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase the wickedness and unbelief of many among them. But do not grieve for the unbelievers" (5:69).

"You see many among them making friends with unbelievers. Evil is that to which their souls prompt them. They have incurred the wrath of God and shall endure eternal torment. . . .You will find that the most implacable of men in their enmity to the faithful are the Jews and the pagans, and that the nearest in affection to them are those who say: ‘We are Christians'" (5:80–82).

"[T]hose that disbelieve and deny Our revelations shall become the inmates of Hell" (5:86).

"[T]hey deny the truth when it is declared to them: but they shall learn the consequences of their scorn" (6:5).

"We had made them more powerful in the land than yourselves [the Meccans], sent down for them abundant water from the sky and gave them rivers that rolled at their feet. Yet because they sinned We destroyed them all and raised up other generations after them. If We sent down to you a Book inscribed on real parchment and they touched it with their own hands, the unbelievers would still assert: ‘This is but plain sorcery.' They ask: ‘Why has no angel been sent down to him [Muhammad]?' If We had sent down an angel, their fate would have been sealed and they would have never been reprieved" (6:5–8).

"Who is more wicked than the man who invents falsehoods about God or denies His revelations?" (6:21).

"Some of them listen to you. But We have cast veils over their hearts and made them hard of hearing lest they understand your words. They will believe in none of Our signs, even if they see them one and all. When they come to argue with you the unbelievers say: ‘This is nothing but old fictitious tales.' They forbid it and depart from it. They ruin none but themselves, though they do not perceive it. If you could see them when they are set before the Fire! They will say: ‘Would that we could return! Then we would not deny the revelations of our Lord and would be true believers' 6:23–27).

"But if they were sent back, they would return to that which they have been forbidden. They are liars all" (6:29).

"Had God pleased He would have given them guidance, one and all" (6:35).

"Deaf and dumb are those that deny Our revelations: they blunder about in darkness. God confounds whom He will, and guides to a straight path whom He pleases." (6:39)

"[T]heir hearts were hardened, and Satan made their deeds seem fair to them. And when they had clean forgotten Our admonition We granted them all that they desired; but just as they were rejoicing in what they were given, We suddenly smote them and they were plunged into utter despair. Thus were the evil-doers annihilated. Praise be to God, Lord of the Universe!" (6:43–45).

"[T]hose that deny Our revelations shall be punished for their misdeeds" (6:49).

"Such are those that are damned by their own sins. They shall drink scalding water and be sternly punished for their unbelief" (6:70).

"Could you but see the wrongdoers when death overwhelms them! With hands outstretched, the angels will say: ‘Yield up your souls. You shall be rewarded with the scourge of shame this day, for you have said of God what is untrue and scorned His revelations" (6:93).

"Avoid the pagans. Had God pleased, they would not have worshipped idols. . . . We will turn away their hearts and eyes from the Truth since they refused to believe in it at first. We will let them blunder about in their wrongdoing. If We sent the angels down to them, and caused the dead to speak to them, . . . and ranged all things in front of them, they would still not believe, unless God willed otherwise. . . . Thus have We assigned for every prophet an enemy: the devils among men and jinn, who inspire each other with vain and varnished falsehoods. But had your Lord pleased, they would not have done so. Therefore leave them to their own inventions, so that the hearts of those who have no faith in the life to come may be inclined to what they say and, being pleased, persist in their sinful ways" (6:107–12).

"The devils will teach their votaries to argue with you. If you obey them you shall yourselves become idolaters. . . . God will humiliate the transgressors and mete out to them a grievous punishment for their scheming" (6:121–25).

"If God wills to guide a man, He opens his bosom to Islam. But if he pleases to confound him, He makes his bosom small and narrow as though he were climbing up to heaven. Thus shall God lay the scourge on the unbelievers" (6:125).

This is all desperately tedious, of course. But there is no substitute for confronting the text itself. I cannot judge the quality of the Arabic; perhaps it is sublime. But the book's contents are not. On almost every page, the Koran instructs observant Muslims to despise nonbelievers. On almost every page, it prepares the ground for religious conflict. Anyone who can read passages like those quoted above and still not see a link between Muslim faith and Muslim violence should probably consult a neurologist.

Quotes from and about Islam

 Quran Koran quotes

What does the Koran say about "infidels?" Is Islam a "religion of peace?" What does the Quran say about women? Do Muslim men get served by 72 virgin girls and boys with pearl earrings when they go to Paradise?

Quotes from the Koran/Quran

"About sixty-one percent of the contents of the Koran are found to speak ill of the unbelievers or call for their violent conquest; at best only 2.6 percent of the verses of the Koran are noted to show goodwill toward humanity. About seventy-five percent of Muhammad's biography (Sira) consists of jihad waged on unbelievers."

Dr. Moorthy Muthuswamy

Quran 8:59-60, "The Spoils," Dawood, p. 183

Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. God does not guide the wrong-doers.

Quran 5:51, "The Table," Dawood, p. 116

Believers, know that the idolaters [non-Muslims] are unclean. Let them not approach the Sacred Mosque after this year is ended.

Quran 9:28, "Repentance," Dawood, p. 190

The unbelievers among the People of the Book [Bible] and the pagans shall burn for ever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.

Quran 98:6, "The Proof," Dawood, p. 598

Women

They ask you about menstruation. Say: 'It is an indisposition. Keep aloof from women during their menstrual periods and do not approach them until they are clean again; when they are clean, have intercourse with them whence God enjoined you....'

Quran 2:222, "The Cow," Dawood, p. 34

Women are your fields: go, then, into your fields whence you please.

Quran 2:223, "The Cow," Dawood, p. 34

Rewards in Paradise

The righteous shall return to a blessed retreat: the gardens of Eden, whose gates shall open wide to receive them. Reclining there with bashful virgins for companions, they will call for abundant fruit and drink.

Quran 38:51-2, "Sad," Dawood, p. 455

God has purchased from the faithful their lives and worldly goods, and in return has promised them the Garden. They will fight for the cause of God, they will slay, and be slain. Such is the true promise which He has made them in the Torah, the Gospel and the Koran....

Quran 9:111, "Repentance," Dawood, p. 203

As for the righteous, they shall be lodged in peace together amid gardens and fountains, arrayed in rick silks and fine brocade. Even thus; and We shall wed them to dark-eyed houris.

Quran 44:51-54, "Smoke," Dawood, p. 497

On that day [the unbelievers] shall be sternly thrown into the fire of Hell . . . But in fair gardens the righteous shall dwell in bliss, rejoicing in what their Lord will give them. Their Lord will shield them from the scourge of Hell. He will say: Eat and drink to your hearts content. This is the reward of your labours.

They shall recline on couches ranged in rows. To dark-eyed houris [virgin girls] We shall wed them. . . . Fruit We shall give them, and such meats as they desire. They will pass from hand to hand a cup inspiring no idle talk, no sinful urge; and there shall wait on them young boys of their own, as fair as virgin pearls.

Quran 52:13-24, Dawood, p. 370

Reclining there upon soft couches, they shall feel neither the scorching heat nor the biting cold. Trees will spread their shade around them, and fruits will hang in clusters over them.

They shall be served with silver dishes, and beakers as large as goblets; silver goblets which they themselves shall measure: and cups brim-full with ginger-flavoured water from a fount called Salsabil. They shall be attended by boys graced with eternal youth, who to the beholders eyes will seem like sprinkled pearls. When you gave upon that scene, you will behold a kingdom blissful and glorious.

Once Allah's Apostle went out to [offer the prayer]... Then he passed by the women and said, "O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-fire were you (women)." They asked, "Why is it so, O Allah's Apostle?" He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you. A cautious sensible man could be led astray by some of you." The women asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?" He said, "Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?" They replied in the affirmative. He said, "This is the deficiency in her intelligence."

Commentary on the Koran and Islam

Mohammed promised his followers seven heavens in which:

They are to cohabit with demure virgins...as beauteous as corals and rubies...full-breasted maidens for playmates...in the gardens of delight.... They're to lie face to face on jewelled couches, and be serviced by immortal youths...young boys, their personal property, as comely as virgin pearls.... We created the houris [dancing girls] and made them virgins, carnal playmates for those on the right hand.... We are going to wed them to dark-eyed houris. [The Koran 55:56; 55:58; 78:33; 56:12; 52:16-17, 24; 56:35-38; 52:20]

Each Muslim man, in exchange for a lifetime of mindless obedience, was to be rewarded after death with an unspecified number of pretty boys to bugger, plus eight heavenly houris, each more phallus-raising than the others and each endowed with the capacity to grow a new hymen after each bout of sexual recreation. The male chauvinist Muslim could thus satisfy his virginity fetish by deflowering them over and over again, for eternity. When one compares Mohammed's gardens of delight with the Christian heaven of harps and celibacy, it becomes apparent why significant numbers of Christian men turn Muslim while conversions the other way are almost non-existent.

William Harwood, Mythology's Last Gods: Yahweh and Jesus, 248

The thought of an old man becoming aroused by a child is one of the most disturbing thoughts that makes us cringe as it reminds us of pedophilia and the most despicable people. It is difficult to accept that the Holy Prophet [Mohammed] married Aisha when she was 6-years-old and consummated his marriage with her when she was 9. He was then, 54 years old.

Ali Sina

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.... Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrogade force exists in the world.

Winston Churchill, The River War

In 1992, Islamic assassins had gunned down my good and brave friend Farag Foda, a professor and columnist, a human-rights activist, and an outspoken critic of the Islamic militants. The murder had shocked Cairo and terrified intellectuals... Egypt's most popular preacher, Abdel Hamid Kishk, a blind sheikh who constantly attacked both the government and its official religious establishment...had been telling his audience that Muslims who entered paradise would enjoy eternal erections and the company of young boys draped in earrings and necklaces. Some of the ulema, the religious scholars at al-Azhar University, the governments seat of Islamic learning, had disagreed. Yes, they said, men in paradise would have erections, but merely protracted, not perpetual. Other experts disputed the possibility of pederasty in paradise. "Is this what concerns Muslims at the end of the 20th century?" [Farag] Foda asked in a column in October magazine. "The world around us is busy with the conquest of space, genetic engineering and the wonders of the computer, while Muslim scholars," he wrote in sadness and pain, "were worried about sex in paradise."... he was killed.

Sharia Law practically means: stoning of women for "honor" offences including for the "crime" of having been raped; beheadings for apostasy or blasphemy hand/foot amputations for "lesser" offences; public hanging of homosexuals and outspoken women; incessant war against infidels and especially Jews; black slavery; female sexual slavery; FGM [female genital mutiliation]; no democracy; no human rights; everyone down on their knees; Mullahs as Gods; non-Muslims as dhimmis; no music except for drums (ask "Cat Stevens"); no dancing; public floggings for "sexual crimes" such as flirting or speaking with an unrelated person of the opposite sex; all women under the veil; prison rape-brothels run by the Mullahs; and so forth. It is perhaps the most cruel and violent system of human life and social organization which has so far been invented, and it came to the world from those populations once only living in the desert "dead heart of Arabia", but now lording over gigantic sums of oil-wealth, and spreading their vile doctrines all around the world.

[The Koran is one of] the most stubborn enemies of Civilisation, Liberty, and the Truth which the world has yet known.

William Muir

Some of the parchment pages in the Yemeni hoard seemed to date back to the seventh and eighth centuries A.D., or Islam’s first two centuries - they were fragments, in other words, of perhaps the oldest Korans in existence. What’s more, some of these fragments revealed small but intriguing aberrations from the stand Koranic text. Such aberrations, though not surprising to textual historians, are troublingly at odds with the orthodox Muslim belief that the Koran as it has reached us today is quite simply the perfect, timeless, and unchanging Word of God.... What the Yemeni Korans seems to suggest, Puin began to feel, was an evolving text rather than simply the Word of God as revealed in its entirety to the Prophet Muhammad in the seventh century A.D.

Toby Lester

So many Muslims have this belief that everything between the two covers of the Koran is just God’s unaltered word. They like to quote the textual work that shows the Bible has a history and did not fall straight out of the sky, but until now the Koran has been out of this discussion. The only way to break through this wall is to prove that the Koran has a history too. The Sana’a fragments will help us do that.

Gerd-R. Puin

The impact of the Yemeni manuscripts is still to be felt. Their variant readings and verse orders are all very significant. Everybody agrees on that. These manuscripts say that the early history of the Koranic texts is much more of an open question than many have suspected: the text was less stable, and therefore had less authority, than has always been claimed.

Andrew Rippin

To historicize the Koran would in effect delegitimize the whole historical experience of the Muslim community. The Koran is the charter for the community, the document that called it into existence. And ideally though obviously not always in reality Islamic history has been the effort to pursue and work out the commandments of the Koran in human life. If the Koran is a historical document, then the whole Islamic struggle of fourteen centuries is effectively meaningless.

R. Stephen Humphreys

There is no hard evidence for the existence of the Koran in any form before the last decade of the seventh century.

Michael Cook

My idea is that the Koran is a kind of cocktail of texts that were not all understood even at the time of Muhammad. Many of them may even be a hundred years older than Islam itself. Even within Islamic traditions there is a huge body of contradictory information, including a significant Christian substrate; one can derive a whole Islamic anti-history from them if one wants.

Gerd-R. Puin

...until the Crusades Islam was indistinguishable from Judaism and... only then did it receive its independent character, while Muhammad and the first Caliphs are mythical figures.

N.A. Morozov

...the history of early-medieval Arabia is nearly all legend. Like Buddha, Confucius, Jesus, and other founders of patriarchal religions, Mohammed lacks real verification. There is no reliable information about his life or teachings. Most stories about him are as apocryphal as the story that his coffin hangs forever in mid-air "between heaven and earth," like the bodies of ancient sacred kings.

Barbara Walker

The only real source of historical information about pre-Islamic Mecca and the circumstances of the Koran's revelation is the classical Islamic story about the religion's foundation...

Toby Lester

The Koran claims for itself that it is "mubeen," or clear. But if you look at it, you will notice that every fifth sentence or so simply doesnt make sense. Many Muslims and Orientalists will tell you otherwise, of course, but the fact is that a fifth of the Koranic text is just incomprehensible.

Gerd-R. Puin

[The canonization of the Koran involved the] attribution of several, partially overlapping, collections of logia [sayings] (exhibiting a distinctly Mosaic imprint) to the image of a Biblical prophet (modified by the material of the Muhammadan evangelium into an Arabian man of God) with a traditional message of salvation (modified by the influence of Rabbinic Judaism into the unmediated and finally immutable word of God).

John Wansbrough

...the prominent Egyptian government minister, university professor, and writer Taha Hussein...devoted himself to the study of pre-Islamic Arabian poetry and ended up concluding that much of that body of work had been fabricated well after the establishment of Islam in order to lend outside support to Koranic mythology.... [T]he Iranian journalist and diplomat Ali Dashti...repeatedly took his fellow Muslims to task for not questioning the traditional accounts of Muhammad's life, much of which he called myth-making and miracle-mongering.

Toby Lester

...it is time [for Islam] to assume, along with all of the great cultural traditions, the modern risks of scientific knowledge.

Mohammed Arkoun

For a long time scholars have considered Islamic origins as basically unproblematic. It seemed fairly straightforward: the founder was a figure of relatively recent history, amply documented, and many of his own writings and sayings survived. True, there had been a frenzy of fabrication, but early Muslim scholars themselves had seen this early on and moved to weed out spurious hadith (traditions of the founder's sayings and deeds). What was left seemed ample enough, as did the text of the Koran, the revelation of Allah to Muhammad. Even if one could not confess with Muslims a belief in the divine inspiration (actually, dictation) of the Koran, one still agreed the text preserved the preachments of Muhammad. The most recent generation of students of Islam, however, have broken with this consensus. Gunter Luling is joined by many in his opinion that Western scholars of Islam and the Koran had simply accepted the official party line of Muslim jurists and theologians regarding the sources for Muhammad and early Islamic history.... In fact, Western Islamicists had done everything but accept the Koran as the revealed Word of God. In retrospect one wonders why they balked at this last step!...

The Koran was assembled from a variety of prior Hagarene texts (hence the contradictions re Jesus' death) in order to provide the Moses-like Muhammad with a Torah of his own....

[T]his means that all we thought we knew of the Prophet Muhammad is really a mass of fictive legal precedents meant to anchor this or that Islamic practice once Muhammad had been recast as an Arab Moses. And the question of the origin of the Koran is no longer "from Allah?" or "from Muhammad?" but rather "from Muhammad?" or "from countless unnamed Hagarene jurists?"... And it becomes equally evident that the line between the Koran and the hadith must be erased, for both alike are now seen to be repositories of sayings fictively attributed to the Prophet and transmitted by word of mouth before being codified in canonical written form.

Robert M. Price

Sharia [Islamic law] is totally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. Women are inferior under Islamic law-their testimony in a court of law is worth half that of a man; their movement is strictly restricted; they cannot marry non-Muslims. Non-Muslims living in Muslim countries also have inferior status under Islamic law; they may not testify against a Muslim. In Saudi Arabia, following a tradition of Muhammad, who said that "two religions cannot exist in the country of Arabia," non-Muslims are forbidden to practice their religion, build houses of worship, possess religious texts, etc. Non-believers or atheists in Muslim countries do not have "the right to life"; all the major law schools, whether Sunni or Shia, agree that they are to be killed. (Muslim doctors of law generally divide sins into great sins and little sins. Of the 17 great sins, unbelief is the greatest, more heinous than murder, theft, adultery, etc.) Slavery is recognized as legitimate in the Koran. Muslim men are allowed to cohabit with any of their female slaves, and they are allowed to take possession even of married female slaves. One does not have the right to change one’s religion if one is born into a Muslim family; here is how the great commentator Baydawi sees the matter: "Whosoever turns back from his belief, openly or secretly, take him and kill him wheresoever you find him, like any other infidel. Separate yourself from him altogether. Do not accept intercession in his regard." And here are the punishments in store for transgressors against the Holy Law: amputation, flogging, crucifixion, and stoning to death.

Ibn Warraq, "The Two Faces of Feisal Rauf"

Islamists are attempting to impose Shariah Compliant Finance (SCF) on Western institutions to use our own financial strengths against us. The most serious problem with SCF is that it legitimates and institutionalizes Shariah law (i.e., Islamic law), a theo-political-legal doctrine violently opposed to Western values. With $1-$2 trillion petrodollars annually looking for an investment home, blind exuberance is driving financial institutions to adopt SCF, without even a minimal baseline for legal compliance. This willful blindness, and lack of both transparency and due diligence may cause SCF to be the next sub-prime crisis, but this time with deadly consequences.

Legal Risks: Western financial institutions which adopt SCF may have criminal and civil exposure to claims of aiding and abetting sedition and the material support of terrorism, securities fraud, consumer fraud, racketeering, and antitrust violations, as well as exposure to tort claims for sedition and terrorism, and for the violation of internationally recognized norms of the law of nations.

Christopher Holton, Shariah Finance Watch

...sharia finance [is] the most serious--and most notorious--example of Islamic separatism. But who cares about that, when there is so much money to be made? ..."Islamic finance has rapidly emerged as one of the most dynamic segments of the global financial services industry and is today a global phenomenon. There are Islamic finance institutions operating in over 75 countries and with assets estimated at around US$700 billion, a figure which is growing at a rate of about 15% a year." With a May 2008 report declaring that approximately $4 trillion was available for investment in the Middle East, Islamic separatism in the form of sharia finance has become a big businesss--with Western financial institutions hurrying to get in on it by accommodating Muslims in setting up parallels financing structures in the West....

What's more, sharia finance is another tool of Islamic separatism; instead of assimilating into American society, Muslims are demanding, and receiving, parallel financial institutions that reinforce the idea that they are unique, not subject to the laws and norms to which the rest of us are subject--a privileged class. At the same time, sharia finance initiatives are giving Islamic interests increased control over Western economic life.

...what will be the outcome of this kind of thing? Holton predicts that "at best, the result could be Muslim enclaves in Western communities in which sharia supercedes native law." Or "at worst, sharia could start to creep into our lives and laws, changing our way of life little by little over time." That would be entirely in line with the stealth jihad goal of Islamizing American society.

The agents of this societal change are, all too often, Islamic scholars who have made no secret of their support for Islamic supremacism, whether advanced by violent or non-violent means. Holton notes that Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, who has served on the Board of the Dow Jones Islamic Index (IMANX) and still holds a place on the sharia Advisory Board of several international financial institutions, explains that "the purpose of Jihad aims at breaking the grandeur of unbelievers and establish[ing] that of Muslims." He further insists that Muslims in Western countries "must live in peace until strong enough to wage Jihad"--and once they are strong enough, they will "establish the supremacy of Islam."

The Quran Confirms the Bible Has Never Been Corrupted [Part 1]

Sam Shamoun

[NOTE- The material presented here is meant to be used in lectures and debates. We have compiled some of the best arguments and objections on this subject in order to assist Christians in their evangelistic outreaches and programs. Permission is given to use this material.

In fact, portions of this material were successfully used in refuting a Muslim neophyte named Nadir Ahmed in a live debate held on July 16, 2003 at Paltalk titled "What the Quran says about the Bible." If and when possible, we will try to make tapes of the debate available for anyone who is interested in hearing it for themselves. [For now it can be accessed online here: http://www.islamiccenterofpeoria.org/debates.html.]

The following material is a compilation of evidences from the Quran which Christians can use to prove that the first Muslims believed that Holy Bible is the inspired and preserved Word of God. The first Muslims clearly did not believe that the text of Holy Scriptures was unreliable, but actually appealed to the biblical text for verification purposes.

We would like to preface our comments by saying that we do not believe that the Quran is the word of God. We do believe, however, that the Quran is the earliest record we have that details the beliefs and practices of the first Muslims. As such, we appeal to it solely for historical purposes to show Muslims that their own sources support the authenticity and reliability of the Holy Bible. Hopefully, by God’s sovereign grace, our aim is to lead Muslims to reexamine their view of God’s pure Word, the Holy Bible, and embrace its teaching on the real Jesus of history for salvation.

The dilemma for the Muslim is quite apparent. To accept the Quran is to accept its testimony that the Holy Bible is the preserved Word of God. And yet to accept the Holy Bible is to reject both the Quran and Muhammad. The first Muslims evidently thought that by appealing to the Holy Bible they would be verifying the prophetic claims of Muhammad. Little did they realize that their appeal to the Holy Scriptures for verification purposes actually proves that Muhammad cannot be a true prophet since he contradicts the message of God’s true prophets and messengers, especially the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s beloved Son.

On the flip side, to attack the Holy Bible is to discredit the Quran which confirms the authority, availability, and authenticity of the previous scriptures. Either way, Muslims are in a no win situation.

With this said, we now turn our attention to the evidence of both the Quran and Islamic traditions.

1. The Quran presumes that the Previous Revelation was available during Muhammad’s time

Before providing the Islamic evidence supporting the authority, authenticity and preservation of the Holy Bible, we need to first address the following passage that Muslims often bring up:

"Allah made a covenant of old with the Children of Israel and We raised among them twelve chieftains, and Allah said: Lo! I am with you. If ye establish worship and pay the poor-due, and believe in My messengers and support them, and lend unto Allah a kindly loan, surely I shall remit your sins, and surely I shall bring you into Gardens underneath which rivers flow. Whoso among you disbelieveth after this will go astray from a plain road. And because of their breaking their covenant, We have cursed them and made hard their hearts. They change words from their context and forget a part of that whereof they were admonished. Thou wilt not cease to discover treachery from all save a few of them. But bear with them and pardon them. Lo! Allah loveth the kindly. And with those who say: ‘Lo! we are Christians,’ We made a covenant, but they forgot a part of that whereof they were admonished. Therefore We have stirred up enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork. O People of the Scripture! Now hath Our messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which ye used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now hath come unto you light from Allah and plain Scripture," S. 5:12-15 Pickthall

It is assumed that "changing words from their context" implies that the previous scriptures have been tampered with. Several responses are in order. First, even if this were the case this would only be referring to the Jews, and even then, not all of the Jews. The Quran testifies that there were many from the People of the Book who wouldn’t deal falsely with God’s Word:

"Not all of them are alike. Some of the People of the Book are an upright people. They recite the signs (or verses) of God in the night season and they bow down worshipping. They believe in God and the last day. They command what is just, and forbid what is wrong and they hasten in good works, and they are of the righteous. S. 3:113-114

"Of the people of Moses there is a section who guide and do justice in the light of truth ... After them succeeded an (evil) generation: They inherited the Book, but they chose (for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse): ‘(Everything) will be forgiven us.’ (Even so), if similar vanities came their way, they would (again) seize them. Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them, that they would not ascribe to Allah anything but the truth? AND THEY STUDY WHAT IS IN THE BOOK. But best for the righteous is the home in the Hereafter. Will ye not understand? As to those WHO HOLD FAST BY THE BOOK and establish regular prayer, - never shall We suffer the reward of the righteous to perish." S. 7:159, 169-170 A. Yusuf Ali

Secondly, the passage says nothing about changing words from the text of Scripture. In fact, when we consult the earliest Muslim views we soon discover that the Jews were accused of changing words by misinterpreting the text. In the words of early Muslim exegete Ibn Kathir, taken from his comments on S. 5:13,15:

Then Allah informs us of the punishment He inflicted upon them when they violated His Covenant. Allah says, <because of their breach of their covenant, We have cursed them>, that is, because they broke their pact, Allah expelled them from His Guidance. And <made their hearts grow hard> so they will not accept their guilt. The verse, <they change the words from their context> means THAT THEY MISINTERPRETED THE VERSES OF ALLAH, according to their own desires, and fabricated lies against Him. We ask Allah to save us from that ...

Allah informs us that He has sent His messenger Muhammad with the guidance and the religion of truth for all the people of the earth; Arabs and non-Arabs, illiterate and literate ... the Prophet has come to explain that which they have altered, misinterpreted and distorted and to ignore most of their unnecessary alterations. Al-Hakim reported in his Mustadrak, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, "Whoever disbelieves in stoning to death (Rajm) in Islam has indeed disbelieved the Qur’an and has no appreciation of Allah’s verse, <O people of the Scripture! Now has our Messenger come to you, expounding to you much of that which you used to hide in the Scripture>; therefore, stoning to death is that which the People of the Scripture concealed." Al-Hakim said that the Isnad of this Hadith is Good. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Part 6 Surat An-Nisa’, ayat 148 to 176 Surah Al-Ma’idah, ayat 1 to 181, abridged by Sheikh Muhammad Nasib Ar-Rafa'i [Al-Firdous Ltd., London, 2000 first edition], p. 128, 130-131; capital and underline emphasis ours)

Commenting on the same expression in 5:41, Ibn Kathir repeats:

<They change the words from their places> that is, THEY MISINTERPRET THE WORDS AND ALTER THEM KNOWINGLY… (Ibid., p. 167; capital emphasis ours)

Ibn Kathir’s comments on S. 3:78 are also pertinent to this very issue:

Mujahid. Ash-Sha'bi, Al-Hassan, Qatadah and Ar-Rabi' bin Anas said that,

<who distort the Book with their tongues.>

means, "They alter (Allah's Words)."

Al-Bukhari reported that Ibn 'Abbas said that the Ayah means they alter and add although none among Allah's creation CAN REMOVE THE WORDS OF ALLAH FROM HIS BOOKS, THEY ALTER AND DISTORT THEIR APPARENT MEANINGS. Wahb bin Munabbih said, "The Tawrah and Injil REMAIN AS ALLAH REVEALED THEM, AND NO LETTER IN THEM WAS REMOVED. However, the people misguide others by addition and false interpretation, relying on books that they wrote themselves." Then,

<they say: "This is from Allah," but it is not from Allah;>

As for Allah's books, THEY ARE STILL PRESERVED AND CANNOT BE CHANGED." Ibn Abi Hatim recorded this statement ... (Tafsir Ibn Kathir – Abridged, Volume 2, Parts 3, 4 & 5, Surat Al-Baqarah, Verse 253, to Surat An-Nisa, verse 147, abridged by a group of scholars under the supervision of Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri [Darussalam Publishers & Distributors, Riyadh, Houston, New York, Lahore; First Edition: March 2000], p. 196; bold and capital emphasis ours)

This is confirmed by Imam Al-Bukhari. In Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitaab Al-Tawheed, Baab Qawlu Allah Ta'ala, "Bal Huwa Qur'aanun Majeed, fi lawhin Mahfooth" (i.e. in Sahih al-Bukhari, Book "The Oneness of God", the Chapter on Surat Al-Borooj (no. 85), Verses 21, 22 saying, "Nay this is a Glorious Qur'an, (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved.") we find in a footnote between 9.642 and 643:

"They corrupt the word" means "they alter or change its meaning." Yet no one is able to change even a single word from any Book of God. The meaning is that they interpret the word wrongly. [... and he continues to speak about how the Qur'an is preserved ...] (Source: http://answering-islam.org/Quran/Bible/ibnabbas.html)

Some Muslims have sought to undermine Wahb’s positive testimony to the preservation of the Holy Bible by claiming that he was a narrator of Jewish traditions, otherwise known as Isrâ'îliyyât narrations, and was a storyteller.

Several responses are in order. First, this falsely assumes that these Jewish narrations are unreliable as opposed to the Muslim sources being the ones in error. A Muslim cannot assume what he has yet to prove.

Second, just because Wahb narrated Jewish stories doesn’t imply that ALL his narrations were taken from the Jews. One needs to first show that his statement regarding the Bible does not reflect the early Muslim view, but rather the Jewish position which Wahb was familiar. The proof that Wahb was reflecting THE MUSLIM VIEW can be gleaned from his comments regarding the Gospel. The Jews, for the most part, did not believe in the Gospel, which clearly shows that Wahb’s statement DID NOT COME FROM THEM. Rather, it was something he picked up after his conversion to Islam by the other Muslims.

Third, there have been and continue to be Muslims who view Wahb as a reliable source of Islamic traditions, DESPITE his narration of Jewish traditions:

Concerning Wahb, al-Hâfidh Ibn Hajar (d. 852H) said:

126 - Wahb Ibn Munabbih Ibn Kâmil al-Yamânî, the father of cAbdallâh al-Abnâwî. He is trustworthy [thiqah]...[1]

Ibn Hajar places him in category three of hadîth narrators who come immediately after category two, which includes extremely precise and firmly established hadîth narrators, and after category one which is reserved purely for the Companions of the Prophet(P).

According to al-cIjlî (d. 261H), Wahb is:

A successor, thiqah....[2]

The editor of this edition placed a footnote to al-cIjlî's comment saying:

He is also declared thiqah by Abû Zurcah, al-Nasâ'î, Ibn Hibbân and others.[3]

Imâm al-Suyûtî (d. 911H) includes him in his book of hadîth memorisers.[4]

Many of the hadîth scholars have recorded his hadîth, including al-Bukhârî, Muslim, Abû Dâwûd and al-Tirmidhî.

To summarize the views of various hadîth specialists on Wahb, let us consider the following quote: ...

If we examine what the scholars and critics said concerning Wahb, we would be convinced that he was above the defamation made against him, innocent from any accusation that would scratch his fairness and honesty. Al-Dhahabî said: He was trustworthy and honest and transmitted a lot from the books of isrâ'îliyyât. Al-cIjlî said: Trustworthy and a successor, he was appointed in the Court of Sancâ'. Ibn Hajar said: Wahb Ibn Munabbih of Sancâ' was a successor. He was trusted by the public of scholars except al-Fallâs who said: He is weak, what led him to this stance is that [Wahb] was suspected of having a controversed opinion regarding Qadar [i.e., predestination]. An-Nasâ'î and Abû Zurcah said: He was trustworthy. Ibn Hibbân has mentioned him in his book of trustworthy narrators. Al-Bukhârî himself used to rely on him and trusted him. We can find in al-Bukhârî one report from him through his brother Hammâm from Abû Huraira concerning the writing of hadîth....[5]

So the conclusion here is that Wahb is consider to be a thiqah even though he transmitted isrâ'îliyyât traditions along with the Islamic ones. The scholars have rejected the isrâ'îliyyât traditions which do not satisfy the criteria as listed above.

(Source: http://www.islamic-awareness.org/Hadith/Ulum/israel.html)

The authors conclude:

The above discussion is self-explanatory. The obvious conclusion is that each hadîth is discussed on the basis of its strengths and weaknesses; whether in chain of narrators (isnâd) or the text (matn). We find that Wahb Ibn Munabbih and Kacb al-Ahbâr are considered as trustworthy narrators of hadîth because they transmitted the Islamic traditions faithfully along with isrâ'îliyyât traditions. Just because they had also transmitted isrâ'îliyyât traditions along with the Islamic ones does not make them 'untrustworthy' or 'fabricators' of hadîth because they did not attribute these isrâ'îliyyât traditions to the Prophet(P). Muslim scholars have rejected the isrâ'îliyyât traditions on the basis that they do not satisfy the critieria of truthfulness according to the above set of rules.

In a response to an accusation against Kacb al-Ahbâr, Wahb Ibn Munabbih, and others who had knowledge in the previous books and transmitted it in the Islamic literature, Dr. Muhammad Husayn al-Dhahabî says: ...

As for his saying [i.e., the critic]: "In general they [Kacb and the others] introduced to the Muslim's creed and knowledge a lot of what had left bad affects." If [the critic] wanted to put the blame of the bad affects upon Kacb and the others then we don't agree on this, because whatever Kacb and the others narrated from the People of the Book they didn't say it is from the Prophet(P) and [thus] they didn't lie to Muslims about it, but they were only reporting it as the Israelite tradition which existed in their own books. We are not obliged to believe anything of it nor we are requested to trust it...."[10]

Fourth, the English translators of Tafsir Ibn Kathir made sure to omit everything from Ibn Kathir which they considered was weak and unreliable:

Careful analysis and eforts [sic] have been made and taken to ensure that weak Hadith are not included within the abridged version of the English translation. (http://www.ibnkathir.com)

These same translators left Wahb’s statement intact, which shows that they considered it sound. Otherwise, they would have expunged it if it had been weak.

Fifth, if the traditions which contain Israiliyyat narrations must be rejected as inauthentic then the Quran must be tossed out as well since it contains MANY narrations from apocryphal and legendary Jewish sources. See the following links for the documentation:

http://answering-islam.org/Responses/Saifullah/borrow.htm
http://answering-islam.org/Quran/Sources/index.html

Finally, the debate over which tradition is sound and which narrator was reliable is an indication of the chaotic and corrupt state of the Islamic religion. This is one of the many reasons why we personally do not believe in Islam since the very foundation upon which it sits is shaky and weak. As we stated, our sole purpose in quoting the Quran and the traditions is to convince those Muslims who do believe in it that their own sources forces them to accept the Holy Bible as God’s inspired and preserved Word.

Returning to the subject at hand, we are told in Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 38 (Kitab al Hudud, i.e. Prescribed Punishments), Number 4434:

Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar:

A group of Jews came and invited the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) to Quff. So he visited them in their school.

They said: AbulQasim, one of our men has committed fornication with a woman; so pronounce judgment upon them. They placed a cushion for the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) who sat on it and said: Bring the Torah. It was then brought. He then withdrew the cushion from beneath him and placed the Torah on it saying: I believed in thee and in Him Who revealed thee.

He then said: Bring me one who is learned among you. Then a young man was brought. The transmitter then mentioned the rest of the tradition of stoning similar to the one transmitted by Malik from Nafi' (No. 4431)."

After mentioning this very same hadith, Ibn Kathir comments:

... They arranged a pillow for the Messenger of Allah and he sat on it and said ...

((Bring the Tawrah to me))

He was brought the Tawrah and he removed the pillow from under him and placed the Tawrah on it, saying ...

((I TRUST YOU AND HE WHO REVEALED IT TO YOU.)) ...

These Hadiths state that the Messenger of Allah issued a decision that conforms with the ruling in the Tawrah, not to honor the Jews in what they believe in, for the Jews were commanded to follow the Law of Muhammad only. Rather, the Prophet did this BECAUSE ALLAH COMMANDED HIM TO DO SO ... (Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged) Volume 3, Parts 6, 7 & 8 (Surat An-Nisa Verse 148 to the end of Surat Al-An’am), Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri, First edition, January 2000, pp. 181-182; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Evidently, neither Muhammad nor his first companions understood S. 5:12-15 to be referring to textual corruption. Commenting on the meaning of tahrif, Thomas F. Michel, the English translator of Shaik-ul-Islam, Ibn Taymiyya’s response to Christians, states:

The term tahrif finds its origin in the Quran. In its verbal form it indicates an accusation hurled four times (4:46; 5:13; 5:41; 2:75) against Jewish leaders and carries the meaning that they quote their Scriptures wrongly out of context. On this basis a distinction was made early in the polemical tradition between tahrif al-lafz and tahrif al-ma‘na, the first referring to actual textual distortion and corruption, the second referring to the false and distorted interpretation of basically sound texts.

The early Muslim polemicists, such as ‘Ali al-Tabari, the Zaydi al-Qasim ibn Ibrahim, and Al-Hasan ibn Ayyub, applied the concept of tahrif al-ma‘na to the Christian as well as Jewish Scriptures. The later polemicists of the Ash‘arite school such as AL-BAQILLANI, AL-GHAZALI, and FAKR AL-DIN AL-RAZI, approached the Bible AS BASICALLY SOUND IN ITS TEXT but misinterpreted by Christians and Jews.

Ibn Hazm in his Al-Fisal fi al-Milal wal-Ahwa wal-Nihal, carefully built a case for the verbal corruption of the biblical text. According to Ibn Hazm, the Bible is not a message of God which contains some erroneous passages and words, but is of the status of an anti-Scripture, "an accursed book," the product of satanic inspiration. His conclusion marked A DEPARTURE FROM THE PREVAILING OPINION BEFORE HIS TIME and was followed by subsequent writers only with careful qualifications. Although the majority of later polemicists rejected Ibn Hazm’s conclusions as extreme, by the strength of his argumentation he influenced all subsequent polemical literature. The question of tahrif of scripture was one that no polemicist - Christian, Muslim, or Jewish - could leave untreated. (Michel, A Muslim Theologian’s Response to Christianity [Caravan Books; Delmar, NY, second printing 1999], pp. 89-90; bold and capital emphasis ours; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Furthermore, if one continues reading the rest of Surah 5 one will soon discover that the first Muslims were correct since the author of the Quran believed that the original revelation remained in its true and pure form:

"But why do they come to thee for decision, WHEN THEY HAVE (THEIR OWN) TORAH BEFORE THEM? - THEREIN IS THE (PLAIN) COMMAND OF ALLAH; yet even after that, they would turn away. For they are not (really) People of Faith. It was We who revealed the Torah (to Moses): therein was guidance and light. By its standard have been judged the Jews, by the prophets who bowed (as in Islám) to Allah's will, by the rabbis and the doctors of law: for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah's book, and they were witnesses thereto: therefore fear not men, but fear Me, and sell not My signs for a miserable price. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are unbelievers. We ordained therein for them: 'Life for life, eye for eye, nose or nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth, and wounds equal for equal.' But if any one remits the retaliation by way of charity, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are wrong-doers." S. 5:43-45

"And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, CONFIRMING THE TORAH THAT CAME BEFORE HIM: We sent him the Gospel: therein IS guidance and light, AND CONFIRMATION OF THE TORAH THAT HAD COME BEFORE HIM: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah. Let the people of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel." S. 5:46-47

This is not the only time where Jesus is said to have confirmed the Torah:

"And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, THE TORAH and the Gospel, And (appoint him) as a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message): 'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I bring the dead into life, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe; (I have come to you), TO ATTEST THE TORAH WHICH WAS BEFORE ME. And to make lawful to you part of what was (Before) forbidden to you; I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord. So fear Allah, and obey me. S. 3:48-50

Ibn Kathir states:

<the Tawrah and the Injil>. The Tawrah is the Book THAT ALLAH SENT DOWN TO MUSA, son of Imran, while the Injil is what Allah sent down to Isa, son of Maryam, peace be upon them, AND ISA MEMORIZED BOTH BOOKS ...

<If you believe. And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Tawrah,> affirming the Tawrah AND UPHOLDING IT," (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Abridged, Volume 2, Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri, pp. 163, 165; bold and capital emphasis ours)

The following passages further show that the previous scriptures were available during Muhammad’s time.

"What! do you enjoin men to be good and neglect your own souls while you read the Book; have you then no sense?" S. 2:44 Shakir

Ibn Kathir writes:

... And you READ ALLAH’S BOOK (THE TAWRAH) and know what IT promises to those who do not fulfill Allah’s commandments ...

<While you recite the Scripture (Tawrah)! Have you then no sense?>

You forbid the people from rejecting the prophethood and the covenant that you have mentioned WITH YOU IN THE TAWRAH, while you yourselves have forgotten it, meaning that ‘you have forgotten the covenant that I made with you that you will accept My Messenger. You have breeched My covenant, and rejected what you know IS in My Book.’ (Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged), Volume 1, Parts 1& 2 (Surat Al-Fatihah to Verse 252 of Surat Al-Baqarah), Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri, First edition, January 2000, pp. 211-213; bold and capital emphasis ours)

The Quran continues:

"And when there cometh unto them a scripture from Allah, confirming that IN THEIR POSSESSION ..." S. 2:89 Pickthall

Again, here is Ibn Kathir:

<confirming what is with them> meaning the Tawrah ...

<And when there came to them (the Jews), a Book (this Qur’an) from Allah confirming what is with them (the Tawrah) and the Injil (Gospel)>

Abu Al-‘Aliyah said, "The Jews used to ask Allah to send Muhammad so that they would gain victory over the Arab disbelievers. They used to say, ‘O Allah! Send the Prophet THAT WE READ ABOUT - IN THE TAWRAH - so that we can torment and kill the disbelievers alongside him’ ..." (Ibid., p. 293)

The Quran chastens Jews and Christians:

"The Jews say, 'The Christians are not (founded) upon anything.' And the Christians say, 'The Jews are not (founded) upon anything.' And yet they READ the Book (Kitab)." S. 2:113

The earliest Muslim biographer Ibn Ishaq gives us the reason why this verse was supposedly "revealed":

"When the Christians of Najran came to the apostle the Jewish rabbis came also and they disputed one with the other before the apostle. Rafi' said, ‘You have no standing,’ and he denied Jesus and the Gospel; and a Christian said to the Jews, ‘You have no standing’ and he denied that Moses was a prophet and denied the Torah. So God sent down concerning them: ‘The Jews say the Christians have no standing; and the Christians say that the Jews have no standing, and yet they read the scriptures. They do not know what they are talking about. God will judge between them on the day of resurrection concerning their controversy,’ i.e. each one reads IN HIS BOOK THE CONFIRMATION OF WHAT HE DENIES, so that the Jews deny Jesus though THEY HAVE THE TORAH in which God required them BY THE WORD OF MOSES TO HOLD JESUS TRUE; while IN THE GOSPEL IS WHAT JESUS BROUGHT IN CONFIRMATION OF MOSES AND THE TORAH HE BROUGHT FROM GOD: so each one denies WHAT IS IN THE HAND OF THE OTHER." (Ishaq, Life Of Muhammad, trans. Alfred Guillaume [Oxford University Press, Karachi], p. 258; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Muslim Scholar Mahmoud M. Ayoub, while commenting on S. 2:97-98, quotes Umar ibn al-Khattab:

(97, 98) These two verses were sent down, as Wahidi relates, on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas, when the Jews of Medina came to the Prophet saying, "We shall ask you concerning certain matters. If you answer us truthfully, we will follow you. Tell us who of the angels comes down to you, for there is no prophet but that an angel comes to him from his Lord with the [charge] of apostleship and revelation. Who is your angel?" He answered, "He is Gabriel." They said, "He is the one who comes down with strife and battle; he is our enemy. Had you said, 'Michael,' the angel who comes down with rain and mercy, we would have followed you" (Wahidi, p. 26). Wahidi further relates on the authority of al-Sha'bi that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "I used to frequent the Jews in their schools WHEN THEY STUDIED THE TORAH AND MARVEL AT HOW THE TORAH CONCURS WITH THE QUR'AN AND HOW THE QUR'AN CONCURS WITH THE TORAH. They said to me, 'O 'Umar, there is no one dearer to us than you.' 'Why?' I asked. 'Because,' they said, 'you come to us and enjoy our company.' I answered, 'I come to marvel at how THE BOOKS OF GOD CONFIRM EACH OTHER' ..." (Ayoub, The Qur'an and Its Interpreters, Volume One [State University of New York Press, Albany, 1984], p. 127; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Again:

Those to whom We have given the Book STUDY IT AS IT SHOULD BE STUDIED: They are the ones that believe therein: Those who reject faith therein,- the loss is their own. S. 2:121

M.M. Ayoub states:

Zamakhshari interprets the verse as follows: "'They to whom we have given the scriptures' are the faithful among the people of the Book who recite the scriptures in their true recitation, neither altering nor changing what they contain of the description of the Apostle of God. Those who have faith in their scriptures are contrasted with 'whosoever rejects faith in it [the scriptures],' that is, alterers. 'These shall be the losers' because they exchange guidance for error." (Zamakhshari, I, p. 308) (Ayoub, pp. 149-150)

Hence, according to Zamakhshari there were Jews and Christians who did not alter the scriptures but preserved and recited it as God intended. Therefore, how can one study the Book if the Book did not remain intact?

Returning to the Quran, we read:

"All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel made unlawful for itself before the Torah was revealed. Say, 'BRING the Torah and READ it, if you are men of truth.' If any, after this, invent a lie and attribute it to God, they are indeed transgressors." S. 3:93-94

They measured not God with a true measure when they said, ‘God has not sent down aught on any mortal.’ Say: ‘Who sent down the Book that Moses brought as a light and a guidance to men? YOU PUT IT INTO PARCHMENTS, REVEALING THEM, and hiding much; and you were taught that you knew not, you and your fathers.’ Then leave them alone, playing their game of plunging. This is a Book We have sent down, blessed AND CONFIRMING THAT WHICH WAS BEFORE IT… S. 6:91-92 A.J. Arberry

It is quite clear that these passages affirm that the original Torah and the Book of Moses were in the possession of the people of Muhammad’s time.

Shall I seek other than Allah for judge, when He it is Who hath revealed unto you (this) Scripture, fully explained? Those unto whom We gave the Scripture (aforetime) know that it is revealed from thy Lord in truth. So be not thou (O Muhammad) of the waverers. Perfected is the Word of thy Lord in truth and justice. THERE IS NAUGHT THAT CAN CHANGE HIS WORDS. He is the Hearer, the Knower. S. 6:114-115 Pickthall

Some Muslims claim that this passage refers to the decrees or laws of Allah regarding, for instance, who will be allowed to accept the guidance. It isn’t referring to his Books per se. Yet, there is nothing in the immediate context which rules out the Scriptures from being part of the words which Allah claims can never be changed. In fact, there are Muslims who go so far as to use passages such as the above to prove that the Quran cannot be abrogated or changed:

The claim of abrogation is in complete contempt of God's words in the Quran:

"The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. NOTHING SHALL ABROGATE HIS WORDS." 6:115

"A.L.R. This is a book whose AYATS HAVE BEEN PERFECTED" 11:1

"……the words of God are UNCHANGEABLE" 10:64

As is plainly clear from the above Quranic words, God asserts that the words of the Quran are perfect, harbour no contradictions and cannot be abrogated. Yet sadly these scholars have invented the greatest lie against the Quran, claiming that there are verses in the Quran that abrogate and invalidate other verses. (Source: http://www.quran-islam.org/160.html)

Muslim apologist and author Akbarally Meherally exhorts Muslims to follow the primary document of Allah:

The Qur'an (Koran) - the revealed "Words of Allah" to the Prophet of Allah, is an uncompromising Primary Document. NONE can change its Message.

"No change there can be in the Words of Allah that is the Supreme Triumph." Qur'an 10 : 64 The Word of thy Lord doth find its fulfillment in truth and in justice: none can change His Words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all. Wert thou to follow the common run of those on earth they will lead thee away from the Way of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture: they do nothing but lie. Qur'an 6 : 115 - 116
This document is protected from falsehood by Allah, who has Revealed it.
"No falsehood can approach it ("Words of Allah - Qur'an") from before or behind it: it is sent down by One Full of Wisdom, Worthy of all Praise." Qur'an 41: 42

(Source: http://www.mostmerciful.com/profoundly-significant-question.htm)

The next Muslim writer applies the passage to God’s laws contained within the revelation:

... In the Quranic concept of God, people do not have to individually please him by prayers and sacrifices but have to follow His laws, which have been clearly outlined in His book. The God of the Quran does not bend towards anyone. He has permanent and objective attributes and is the fountainhead of unchangeable laws (called KALIMAT-I-ALLAH (6:34, 6:115, 10:64, 18:27), SUNNAT-I-ALLAH (17:77, 33:62, 35:43, 48:23), and KHALQ-I-ALLAH (30:30) by the Quran) ... (Source: http://www.icgt.org/MonitorPastArticles/TheConceptofGod2.htm)

Another Muslim applies 6:115 to the Book in heaven, which includes all the revelation:

... Sometimes the following verses are quoted to show that the Quran contains everything: - "And perfected are the words of your Sustainer with truth and justice; there is none who can change His words, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing." (6:115) "... nothing have we omitted from the Book." (6:38). This refers to the Book in heaven. (Source: http://www.stockhits.com/board/bbs0057.html)

This Muslim writer uses the verse, and a host of others, to prove that the penalty of stoning adulterers is un-Quranic:

In the light of the above it is unimaginable to think that the Nabi would have authorized Rajm as punishment for adultery. In 1979 the Govt. of Pakistan enforced the Hudood Laws as per Hanafi Fiqah regarding theft, adultery, defamation and wine. The punishment for adultery is very clear in the Quran 'Flog each of them with a hundred stripes' (24:3). At another place the Quran clearly points out that: 'The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfillment in truth and in justice; none can change His words' (6:115). The Quran does not differentiate between married and unmarried and there is absolutely no mention of Rajm. As such any changes or addition to clear Quranic injunctions is 'Shirk'. 'He does not share His command with any person whatsoever' (18:26). The companions of the Nabi also followed these injunctions, which would be our guide for all times to come. These injunctions need no confusing or contradictory interpretations and additions. Everything is clearly defined in them. 'We have sent down to them a Book explaining all things, a mercy and glad tidings to Muslims (17:89) 'And We have explained to man in the Quran every kind of similitude (17:89). There are no contradictions in the Quran and the Quranic injunctions 'Do they not consider the Quran (with care)? Had it been from other than Allah they would surely have found therein much discrepancy' (4:82). These ayats affirm all injunctions, laws, principles and punishments given in Quran 'None can change His words (18:27) 'The word of thy Lord find its fulfillment in truth and in justice and none can change His words (6:116). 'Is it not enough for them that we have sent down to them the Book which is rehearsed to them?'(29:51). (Source: http://www.toluislam.com/pub_online/previous_issues/january00/rajm.htm)

The following Muslim writes:

Verily, the Qur’an is the pure word of Allah, never been changed by anyone, not even by Allah’s Messenger. Allah makes this very clear ...

The Qur’an will forever remain as the pure and undistorted Book of Allah to mankind. No one can ever change it. Allah promises to protect it from any form of human manipulation. He assures us:

The word of the Rabb does find its fulfillment in truth and in justice. None can change His words for He is the One Who hears and knows all. (6:115) (Source: http://www.wefound.org/DivineMessage/7MessageIV.htm)

In his exposition of an Islamic state, this next Muslim states:

2. The sovereignty in practice shall be that of the Qur'an, which means that the government shall be obedient to the laws based on the fundamental principles of the Qur'an.

(6:115) Perfected is the Word of thy Sustainer in truth and justice. There is nothing that can change His Words [...]

(5:44) [...] Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are disbelievers.

(5:47) [...] Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are wrong-doers.

(6:114) Shall I seek other than Allah for judge when it is He who has revealed unto you (this) Book, fully explained? [..]

(6:116) If you obeyed most of those on earth they would mislead you far from Allah's way. They follow nothing but an opinion, they do but guess.

(45:18) And We have set thee (O Muhammad) on a clear road of commandment; so follow it, and follow not the whims of those who know not. (Source: http://members.aol.com/MAmalek2/qbook16.htm)

Note that the preceding author also quotes verses which refer to the previous books.

Allama Shabbir Usmani believes that S. 6:115 (116 in his version) refers to the Quran:

... and the Jews and Christians also know well on the basis of tidings in their Books that the Holy Qur’an is indeed sent down from God. Its tidings are all true, its laws are moderate and just and no one has the power to change them. In the presence of such a guarded Book and the perfected and guarded Laws ... (The Noble Qur’an Tafseer-E-Usmani [Darul-Isha’at Urdu Bazar, Karachi-1 Pakistan, 1999], p. 615, fn. 108; underlined emphasis ours)

This next online Muslim source states:

Most commentators say, - AND RIGHTLY SO, - that the Word of Allah is synonymous with the Qur'aan which He promised to preserve in tact until the Day of Judgement, and it is this Divine pledge which has ensured that no mortal has ever had the audacity of implementing changes in it, not a word, not a mark of punctuation, not a correction, not an abbreviation, no editing, no errata, no prologues nor any epilogues, - nothing) (Source; underline and capital emphasis ours)

By the same token, if Allah promised to preseve His Word which includes the Quran, then this must also include all the other revealed books since they too are God's Word. Thus, if the Quran is correct, then none of God's books can be changed, which means that the Bible has remained intact!

Finally, the online Pooya/M.A. Ali English translation and commentary of the Quran writes:

"There is none who can change His words" is a challenge that the Quran, the revealed word of Allah, will never, like the earlier heavenly scriptures, be tampered with or made to lose its originality and genuineness, as has been explained by Aqa Mahdi Puya in his essay "The originality of the Holy Quran". To save the Quran from tahrif (change), under the command of Allah, the Holy Prophet left the Quran in the safe hands of his Ahl ul Bayt. Refer to hadith al thaqalayn in the introduction under "Essentials: For the readers of the Holy Quran". (Source: http://www.al-islam.org/quran/)

The translators’ assertion that the previous scriptures have been altered fails to take their own interpretation seriously and/or apply it consistently. If the Holy Bible is the word of God, then it too cannot be altered. Note the following:

  1. No one can change the words of God.
  2. The Bible (Torah, Zabur, Injil) is the word of God.
  3. Therefore, no one has or can change the Bible.

The candid admission of the preceding Muslims demonstrate that there is absolutely NOTHING WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF S. 6:115 THAT EXCLUDES THE BOOKS OF GOD from being part of those very words which Allah says cannot be changed. The only real reason stopping a Muslim from embracing this interpretation is an a priori assumption that the Holy Bible has not been preserved from corruption.

In fact, a different Muslim writer, in answering a questioner, quotes another passage relating to unchangeableness of God's words and says:

5. Why don't Muslims adapt the Quran to the needs of the modern age?

a.
The Quran states: there is no changing the words of God. (1)   (Source)

Here is what we find when we check the reference for the footnote:

1
Those who believe and guarded (against evil): They shall have good news in this world's life and in the hereafter; there is no changing the words of Allah; that is the mighty achievement.
Sura Yunus (10) verses 63/64   (Source)

This Muslim writer obviously didn't realize that by linking this passage with the revelation of God, he indirectly provided evidence that the Bible could not have been corrupted. After all, if there is no changing the words of Allah, and if the Bible is Allah's word, then there can be no changing to the Bible!

The Quran claims that Muhammad is predicted in the Torah and Gospel:

"Those who follow the messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel (which are) WITH THEM. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and he will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, and honour him, and help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful." S. 7:157

Ibn Kathir notes:

This is a description of the Prophet Muhammad in the Books of the Prophets. They delivered the good news of his advent to their nations and commanded them to follow him. His descriptions were still apparent in their Books, as the rabbis and priests well KNOW. Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Sakhr Al-'Uqayli said that a bedouin man said to him, "I brought a milk-producing camel to Al-Madinah during the life time of Allah's Messenger. After I sold it, I said to myself, 'I will meet that man (Muhammad) and hear from him.' So I passed by him while he was walking between Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and I followed them until they went by a Jewish man, WHO WAS READING FROM AN OPEN COPY OF THE TAWRAH. He was mourning a son of his who was dying and who was one of the most handsome boys. The Messenger of Allah asked him (the father),

<I ask you by He Who has sent down the Tawrah, do you not find the description of me and my advent in your Book?>

He nodded his head in the negative. His son said, 'Rather, yes, by He Who has sent down the Tawrah! We find the description of you and your advent in OUR BOOK. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah.' The Prophet said (to the Companions),

<Stop the Jew (the father) from (taking care of) your brother (in Islam).>

The Prophet then personally took care of the son's funeral and led the funeral prayer on him. This Hadith is sound and is supported by a similar Hadith in the Sahih narrated from Anas.

Ibn Jarir recorded that Al-Muthanna said that 'Ata bin Yasar said, 'I met 'Abdullah bin 'Amr and asked him, 'Tell me about the description of Allah's Messenger IN THE TAWRAH.' He said, 'Yes, by Allah! He is described IN THE TAWRAH, just as he is described in the Qur'an,

<O Prophet! Verily, We have sent you as a witness, and a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner.> [33:45]

as a safe refuge for the unlettered ones. [author's note- what follows is a paraphrase of Isaiah 42:1-7] 'You are My servant and Messenger. I have called you 'Al-Mutawakkil' (who trusts in Allah), not hard or harsh.' Neither uttering foul speech in the markets nor returning evil deed with one in kind. Rather, he forgives and forgoes. Allah will not end his life until He straightens through him the crooked religion, so that they might proclaim, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' He will open through him sealed hearts, deaf ears and blind eyes.'" 'Ata then said, 'I also met Ka'b and asked him the same question, and his answer did not differ from 'Abdullah's answer, even concerning one letter." Al-Bukhari recorded from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr. It was also recorded by Al-Bukhari [up to the word] forgoes. And he mentioned the narration of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr then he said: "It was common in the speech of our Salaf that they describe the Books of the People of the Scriptures AS THE TAWRAH, as some Hadiths concur. Allah knows best." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir - Volume 4 (Surat Al-Ar'af to the end of Surah Yunus), Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri, First Edition: May 2000, pp. 178-179; bold emphasis ours)

The Quran provides further evidence for the authority of the Holy Scriptures:

Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It IS a promise which IS binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph. S. 9:111

The next passage is most interesting:

"But (now), when the Truth has come to them from Ourselves, they say, 'Why are not (Signs) sent to him, like those which were sent to Moses?" Do they not then reject (the Signs) which were formerly sent to Moses? They say: 'TWO KINDS OF SORCERY, EACH ASSISTING THE OTHER!' And they say: 'For us, we reject all (such things)!' Say: 'Then bring ye a Book from Allah, which is a better guide THAN EITHER OF THEM, that I may follow it! (Do), if ye are truthful!'" S. 28:48-49

Here, Muhammad defends the Book of Moses and the Quran. Ibn Kathir states:

<Two kinds of magic, each helping the other!>

‘Ali bin Abi Talhah and Al-‘Awfi reported that Ibn ‘Abbas said that this refers to THE TAWRAH and the Qur‘an, because Allah says next ...

<Say: "Then bring a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than these two that I may follow it.">

Allah often mentions the Tawrah and the Qur‘an together, as in the Ayat ...

<Say: "Who then sent down the Book which Musa brought, a light and a guidance to mankind ..."> until ...

<And this is a blessed Book which We have sent down.> (6:91-92)

And at the end of the same Surah, Allah says ...

<Then, We gave Musa the Book, to complete (Our favor) upon those who would do right> (6:154) ...

<And this is a blessed Book which We have sent down, so follow it and have Taqwa of Allah, that you may receive mercy> (6:155).

(Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged) Volume 7 (Surat An-Nur to Surat Al-Ahzab, Verse 50), Shaykh Safiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri, First Edition, August 2000, p. 418; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Two things to note here. First, the unbelievers claimed that both the Book of Moses and the Quran assisted each other. This implies that the Book of Moses must have been available for examination. Otherwise they would not have been able to know whether the two books confirmed each other. Their statement also confirms that the Quran did not come to expose corruption to the previous scriptures, but rather it came to confirm and assist them.

Secondly, Muhammad challenges the unbelievers to produce a book containing better guidance than either the Book of Moses or the Quran. This would have been a very foolish request on Muhammad's part, if in fact Moses’ Book had been tampered with. Defending a book that was no longer the pure word of God, but contained additions or deletions, having the words of fallible men mixed in with God's words would only have discredited Muhammad. It would have proven to the unbelievers that much like the previous scriptures, the Quran was nothing more than the words of Muhammad combined with preexisting Biblical and mythical stories. Such a book could be easily matched and refuted. The fact that Muhammad defends it only reaffirms that the Quran does not teach Biblical corruption.

The following passages provide additional support for my argument:

"We did indeed aforetime give the Book to Moses: be not then in doubt of its reaching (thee): and We made it a guide to the Children of Israel. And We appointed, from among them, leaders, giving guidance under Our command, so long as they persevered with patience and continued to have faith in Our Signs (Ayat- Verses). Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment, in the matters wherein they differ (among themselves) S. 32:23-25

"This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than God; but it is a verification of that WHICH IS BETWEEN HIS (ITS) HANDS, and the explanation OF THE BOOK, wherein there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds." S. 10:37

"And BEFORE THIS was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy: and THIS BOOK is a verification (of it) in the Arabic tongue to warn those who transgress and as glad tidings to the righteous." S. 46:12

"Behold, We turned towards you a company of Jinns listening to the Qur'an ... When the (reading) was finished they returned to their people as warners. They said, ‘O our people! we have heard a Book REVEALED AFTER MOSES attesting to (the truth of) that WHICH IS BETWEEN HIS (ITS) HANDS - guiding to the truth and to a straight path.’" S. 46:29-30

Finally:

"The (Qur'an) is indeed a message for you (Muhammad) and your people, (all of) you shall be brought to account, and ASK those of our apostles whom we sent before thee, 'Did We appoint any deities other than the Most Merciful whom they should worship?'" S. 43:23-25

Since all the apostles had died, the only way for anyone to ask them anything is by consulting their writings. Yet, it would be impossible to know with certainty what their message was if these writings had been corrupted!

2. Muslims commanded to follow the Previous Revelation

"If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt." S. 10:94

Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and stand steadfast as thou art commanded, nor follow thou their vain desires; but say: "I believe in whatever Book Allah has sent down; and I am commanded to judge justly between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord: for us (is the responsibility for) our deeds, and for you for your deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is (our) final goal. S. 42:15

Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command and prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein, then indeed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein. Those are they whom Allah guideth, SO FOLLOW THEIR GUIDANCE. Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for it. Lo! it is naught but a Reminder to (His) creatures. S. 6:89-90

Sir William Muir writes:

The people referred to in the opening Words are the Jews and Christians. The preceding verses contain an enumeration of the chief patriarchs of the Israelites and Christians, from Abraham to Jesus, including "David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Zacharias, John," &c., With "their fathers, offspring, and brethren." The text proceeds:—"These are they to whom We have given the Book, and Wisdom, and Prophecy; and if these (the people of Mecca, Jelalooddeen; the Coreish, Baidhâwi,) reject the same, verily We have made (or shall make) it over to a people who will not be disbelievers therein.

"The Book, meaning the Scripture generally," الكتاب يريد به الجنس We have made it over, that is, its guardianship or care," وكلنا بها أي بمراعتها Baidhâwi; "we have committed the custodianship over it," وكلنا بها أرصدنا لهاJelalooddeen. (Sir William Muir, The Corân, p. 103)

The hadith record:

Narrated Mujahid:
That he asked Ibn 'Abbas, "Is there a prostration in Surat-al-Sad?" (38.24) Ibn 'Abbas said, "Yes," and then recited: "We gave ... So follow their guidance." (6.85,90) Then he said, "He (David) is one them (i.e. those prophets)." Mujahid narrated: I asked Ibn 'Abbas (regarding the above Verse). He said, "Your Prophet (Muhammad) was one of those who were ordered to follow them." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 156)

3. Allah swears to protect the Bible

We read in the Quran:

"Verily, we have sent down THE REMINDER (thikra), and, verily, we will guard it. And we sent before thee among the sects of those of yore." S. 15:9-10 Palmer

This passage connects the Reminder not just with that which was sent down to Muhammad, but also with what came before him. In S. 15:6, the Quran is called the Reminder:

"And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder (thikru) is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman!" Pickthall

Yet, S. 15:9-10 the Reminder/Message refers to the revelation given to all the Apostles. In fact, elsewhere the Bible is called the Reminder/Message:

"And We did not send before you any but men to whom We sent revelation -- so ask the followers of the Reminder (thikri) if you do not know -- With clear arguments and scriptures; and We have revealed TO YOU the Reminder (thikra) that you may make clear to men what has been revealed to them, and that haply they may reflect." S. 16:43-44 Shakir

"And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder (thikri) if ye know not?" S. 21:7 Pickthall

"And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder (thikran) for those who keep from evil," S. 21:48 Pickthall

"And verily we have written in the Scripture, after the Reminder (thikri): My righteous slaves will inherit the earth:" S. 21:105 Pickthall

"And We verily gave Moses the guidance, and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture, A guide and a reminder (thikra) for men of understanding." S. 40:53-54 Pickthall

One Muslim propagandist named Jalal Abualrub, in his response to Osama Abdallah, made the following candid admission:

  1. Here is a question to ask of Osama: Since Allah called the Torah ‘Dhikr,’ then, what evidence does he have that Ayah 15:9 [Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr and surely, We will guard it], is even about the Quran rather than the Torah?
    1. Read Ayah 15:9 to try and find direct evidence in it that it is about the Quran.
(Jalal Abualrub, If You Love Allah, Then Follow Muhammad, p. 42)

Indeed, there is absolutely nothing within the immediate context which limits the protection of the Thikr to the Quran. The natural reading of the verse is that Allah would protect all the Thikr that he sent down, not just bits and pieces of it, which means that Allah would preserve the all of previous Scriptures such as the Torah and the Gospel. So then how does Abualrub prove his case that this text is referring to the Quran alone? By appealing to the opinions of Muslim scholars, of course!

Putting it simply, surah 15:9-10 is basically saying that Allah will protect the Holy Bible from corruption. The following passage further substantiates this:

"And indeed it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds - brought down by the trustworthy spirit – upon your heart, so that you be one of the warners – [revealed] in a clear Arabic dialect - and indeed it IS [also] IN the scriptures (Arabic- Zubur) of old. Is it no evidence for them that the scholars of the Israelites know him [to be a true prophet]?" 26:192-197

Ibn Kathir claims:

The Qur'an was mentioned in the Previous Scriptures

Allah says: this Qur'an was mentioned and referred to in the previous Scriptures that were left behind by their Prophets who foretold it in ancient times and more recently. Allah took a covenant from them that they would follow it, and the last of them stood and addressed his people with the good news of Ahmad ...

Zubur here refers to Books; Zubur is the plural of Az-Zabur, which is also the name used to refer to the Book given to Dawud ...

<Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars of the Children of Israel knew it?> meaning, is it not a sufficient witness to the truth for them that the scholars of the Children of Israel found this Qur'an mentioned in the Scriptures which THEY STUDY? The meaning is: the fair-minded among them admitted that the attributes of Muhammad and his mission and his Ummah were mentioned in their Books, as was stated by those among them who believed, such as 'Abdullah bin Salam, Salman Al-Farisi and others who met the Prophet. (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Abridged, Volume 7, Surat An-Nur to Surat Al-Ahzab, Verse 50, pp. 276-277; bold italics and capital emphasis ours)

According to Ibn Kathir, the scriptures of old containing the description of Muhammad and the Quran were available during the time of Muhammad. Another interesting point is that the Hadiths actually apply the title Quran to the Psalms of David:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, 'The recitation of the Quran was made light and easy for David that he used to have his riding animal be saddled while he would finish the recitation of the Quran before the servant had saddled it.' (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 237)

And:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, 'The reciting of the Zabur (i.e. Psalms) was made easy for David. He used to order that his riding animals be saddled, and would finish reciting the Zabur before they were saddled. And he would never eat except from the earnings of his manual work." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 55, Number 628)

Since the Quran is contained in previous scriptures, and since David's Psalms are actually called the Quran, this means that God has preserved the Holy Bible intact. Otherwise, to claim that the Holy Bible has been tampered with implies that Allah failed to preserve the Quran from corruption. Let us break this down:

  1. Allah has promised to preserve the Reminder given to Muhammad.
  2. The Reminder is the Quran.
  3. Allah claims that the Quran is in the previous scriptures, i.e. the Holy Bible.
  4. Therefore, the Holy Bible, which supposedly contains the Quran, has also been preserved.
  5. To claim otherwise means that Allah failed to preserve the Quran since the scriptures that contained it have been corrupted.

4. Islamic Traditions on the Bible

The hadiths state that Allah's Words, as found in his books, can never be changed:

... The Prophet turned towards Gabriel for advice and Gabriel did not disapprove of that. So he ascended with him for the fifth time. The Prophet said, "O Lord, my followers are weak in their bodies, hearts, hearing and constitution, so lighten our burden." On that the Irresistible said, "O Muhammad!" the Prophet replied, "Labbaik and Sa'daik." Allah said, "The Word that comes from Me DOES NOT CHANGE, so it will be as I enjoined on you in THE MOTHER OF THE BOOK." Allah added, "Every good deed will be rewarded as ten times so it is fifty (prayers) in the Mother of the Book (in reward) but you are to perform only five (in practice)." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 608)

Thus, if the Torah and the Gospel are Allah's Words, as the Quran itself says that they are, then these books can never be changed.

In fact, Al-Bukhari claims that the Gospel was available in Muhammad's time:

Khadija then accompanied him to her cousin Waraqa bin Naufal bin Asad bin 'Abdul 'Uzza, who, during the Pre-Islamic Period became a Christian and used to write the writing with Hebrew letters. He would write from THE GOSPEL in Hebrew as much AS ALLAH WISHED HIM TO WRITE ... (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3; see also Volume 6, Book 60, Number 478)

Waraqa had not only seen or heard of the Gospel somewhere, but he had the Gospel in his own possession and was writing it (i.e. making manuscript copies). Copies of the Gospel were available among Muhammad's relatives. It is called "the Gospel" not "a corruption". The Gospel existed in Hebrew, with other hadiths stating that Waraqa read and wrote the Gospel in Arabic. [Cf. these traditions.]

Ibn Ishaq claims that the Apostle John wrote down the Gospel of Jesus:

"Among the things which have reached me about what Jesus the Son of Mary stated in the Gospel which he received from God for the followers of the Gospel, in applying a term to describe the apostle of God, is the following. It is extracted FROM WHAT JOHN THE APOSTLE SET DOWN FOR THEM WHEN HE WROTE THE GOSPEL FOR THEM FROM THE TESTAMENT OF JESUS SON OF MARY: 'He that hateth me hateth the Lord. And if I had not done in their presence works which none other before me did, they had not sin: but from now they are puffed up with pride and think that they will overcome me and also the Lord. But the word that is in the law must be fulfilled, 'They hated me without a cause' (i.e. without reason). But when the Comforter has come whom God will send to you from the Lord's presence, and the spirit of truth which will have gone forth from the Lord's presence he (shall bear) witness of me and ye also, because ye have been with me from the beginning. I have spoken unto you about this that ye should not be in doubt.

"The Munahhemana (God bless and preserve him!) in Syriac is Muhammad; in Greek he is the paraclete." (Ishaq, Life Of Muhammad, trans. Alfred Guillaume, pp. 103-104; bold and capital emphasis ours)

The preceding Gospel citation is taken from John 15:23-16:1. Please notice that Ishaq doesn’t say that this particular Gospel is inauthentic or corrupt. Ishaq provides additional verification that Muhammad believed in the purity of the Holy Bible:

"Salih b. Kaisan from Nafi‘, freedman of ‘Abdullah b. Umar from Abdullah b. Umar, told me: When the apostle gave judgement about them HE ASKED FOR A TORAH. A rabbi sat there reading it having put his hand over the verse of stoning. ‘Abdullah b. Salam struck the rabbi’s hand, saying, ‘This, O prophet of God, is the verse of stoning which he refused to read to you. The apostle said, ‘Woe to you Jews! What has induced you to abandon the judgement of God WHICH YOU HOLD IN YOUR HANDS?’ They answered: ‘The sentence used to be carried out until a man of royal birth and noble origin committed adultery and the king refused to allow him to be stoned. Later another committed adultery and the king wanted him to be stoned but they said No, until you stone so-and-so. And they did away with all mention of stoning.’ The apostle said, ‘I am the first to revive the order from God AND HIS BOOK and to practice it.’ They were duly stoned and Abdullah b. Umar said, ‘I was among those that stoned them.’ (Ibid. p. 267; bold and capital emphasis ours)

"Rafi b. Haritha and Sallam b. Mishkam and Malik b. al-Sayf and Rafi b. Huraymila came to him [Muhammad] and said: ‘Do you not allege that you follow the religion of Abraham and believe in the Torah WHICH WE HAVE and testify that it is the truth from God?’ He replied, ‘CERTAINLY, but you have sinned and broken the covenant CONTAINED THEREIN and concealed what you were ordered to make plain to men, and I dissociate myself from your sin.’ They said, ‘We hold by WHAT WE HAVE. We live according to the guidance and the truth and we do not believe in you and we will not follow you.’ So God sent down concerning them: ‘Say, O Scripture folk, you have no standing until you observe the Torah and the Gospel and what has been sent down from your Lord. What has been sent down to thee from they Lord will assuredly increase many of them in error and unbelief. But be not sad because of the unbelieving people.’" (Ibid., p. 268; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Finally, regarding the Spirit's identity according to surah 17:85, Ishaq writes:

"I was told on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that he said, When the apostle came to Medina, the Jewish rabbis said, 'When you said, "And you have only a little knowledge about it," did you mean us or your own people?' He said, 'Both of you.' They said, 'Yet you will read IN WHAT YOU BROUGHT that we were given the Taurat IN WHICH IS AN EXPOSITION OF EVERYTHING.' He replied in reference to God's knowledge that was little, BUT IN IT THERE WAS ENOUGH FOR THEM IF THEY CARRIED IT OUT." (Ibid., 139; bold and capital emphasis ours)

Note that the Jews appeal to Muhammad's Quran to establish the sufficiency of their own scriptures. Muhammad confirms that the Torah the Jews had in their possession during his time was completely sufficient for all their needs. Again, if the Muslim assertion is correct this means that Muhammad confirmed a corrupted Torah as being completely sufficient for all the needs of the Jews!

This concludes part 1. Please continue with the second part.

WHY DID ISLAM FAIL disastrously in these countries?

By Ahmed Simon

Islamic armies, at one time, stormed into so many countries, in a wide section of the world. So also, was Islam’s failure and demise in numerous countries, just as dramatically. Why did Islam get thrown out, so decisively and thoroughly from these countries?

First, “The proof in the pudding is in the eating,” so is the saying. When a good and true doctrine like Christianity comes along, it quickly finds its own way and spreads like wild fire. The birth of Christianity was not by force or by the sword; but in the truth and the love of God. Christians did not have to go around forcing non-believers, either to accept or have their heads chopped off their bodies. The Christian power/truth are in the One True God’s words.

Christianity is the answer, which even Allah admitted/confirmed as in the Quran in [Sura 10:95 – “And if though (Muhammad) art in doubt concerning that which we revealed unto thee, then question those (Christians) who read the scripture (Bible)(that was) before thee. Verily the truth from thy Lord hath come unto thee. So be not though of the waverers.”]

Since Allah CLAIMS to have given the Scriptures to the Jews and Christians; why did he not also give Muhammad these Scriptures? Why couldn’t Allah reproduce them for Muhammad – what happened to Allah’s powers? Why disregard Muhammad to go around asking for them by himself from the ordinary Christians? So even Allah’s prophet, Muhammad, was instructed to learn from ordinary Christians. This is a general (blanket) command referring to the whole Quran. Thus, it also confirms that Allah considers the Quran an unsatisfactory and inadequate scripture. So Allah expected Muhammad to find his answers from ordinary Christians. But, Muhammad failed, because the Christians hid the Bible from him, as confirmed in the Quran. This is a shameful admission, is it not, to use knowledge of God from the Bible, for the fabrication of the Quran in such a deceitful/false way?

When the Internet first emerged, there were nobody to point the sword or to force this down people’s throats or have their heads chopped off. The whole world was beating their way to the Americans on their own accord, to acquire the technology and knowledge of the Internet. And it spread fast, like Christianity did.

Thailand was never colonized by any foreign power, and yet Christianity took root and is spreading fast. Christians (4.2 million – ‘Christian Digest of Thailand’, though small in percentage, but huge in numbers, where 4 decades ago, there were less than half a million) Its significant and says a lot for a country like Thailand, because it was not coerced by political, military or any other ways except on its own merits.

The spread of Christianity into countries, in North America, South America, most of Africa, and Europe is academic.

The powerful Roman Emperors initially had their own Roman Gods and religion. So they terrorized and had Christians killed. They even made entertainment of Christians by feeding them to the lions in packed stadiums. All these threats/terrorism/deaths did not stop the wise from realizing the Truth and believed in Christ our Lord and Christianity grew and grew. Eventually, when the mighty Emperor Constantine found that most of his people were already Christians; he himself took interest and finally discarded his religion and believed and converted to Christianity. He then became the Christian pillar of strength, in Evangelizing, spreading the ‘Good News’, proselytizing, enacted laws to comply to Christianity, and sent his mother to build Christian places of worship in Israel – from enemy of Christianity to propagator of Christianity – just in a lifetime.

The question in the title above is obvious, and the answer within the question is also obvious that Islam failed in numerous countries. Unlike non-Muslim powers who basically went to other countries almost exclusively for trade (though in many cases, Christian clergy were brought along, basically for their ships’ crew and army, along their journeys, but also when arrived, some clergy did plant churches in the foreign lands), but Islamic countries spread their wings, almost exclusively for propagating Islam and established forcefully, by imposing the Islamic way of life in all these foreign lands they conquered. When captured, Muslims intentionally began converting other worshipping buildings into mosques or had them destroyed or buried with earth (see below). But, ended up in failed results in numerous countries. Never in this modern human history did one religious power get thrown out from so many countries, so decisively. Why did Islam fail to survive in these countries? In fact, in some of these countries the local people even went overboard, to the other extreme, to drive out the Muslims with a vengeance? Why did these one time Islamic countries despise Islam so much? What is so terrible with Islam? What made ordinary people revolt against Islamic rule and administration in such a thorough manner to completely eliminate Islam and Islamic power from their own countries?

Many Muslims believe that it is blasphemous to even touch a Bible. But when I show the verses in the Quran that Allah recognized the Injil and even asked Muhammad to learn from the Christians. If they say the Bible is changed now, I then ask them ‘what is changed’, ‘why did Allah not foresee this change, if he is a real God’, they get ‘tongue-tight’. So when I question them further on certain logical aspects of the Quran/Allah they give confused and contradictory answers, until they get ‘checkmated’ by themselves, with their own answers. Such is generally, the Islamic knowledge transmitted to most Muslims. The Islamic clergy’s agenda is obvious, to keep Muslims ignorant of Christianity, for fear that Muslims will apostate and give up Islam, if the truth of Christianity is known. In spite of this, millions of Muslims have given up Islam and became Christians, {mostly done secretly for fear of Muslim reprisals as specified in the Quran. So they are mostly invisible to the Muslims and Muslims are not fully aware of the massive extend of Muslims becoming Christians. This is happening all over the world, even in Islamic countries}

Many countries were ruled/governed by Muslim Military and Muslim administrations or were satellite states of Islamic empires at one time, from the 8th century to the 20th century. The conquering Muslim armies quickly subdued non-Muslim territories that were basically ill prepared for these invading forces; non-Muslims were subsequently forcefully subjugated, with Islamic rules and norms. Muslims ruled many countries with an inhuman ‘iron-fist’. Some countries were ruled for a 1,000 years of Islamic rule/Islamic way of life, and yet these people threw out Islam, thereafter. Does it not go to show that generally the Muslims in Islamic countries are held in Islam by force and without their free will? Non-Muslims sprouted up fighting back the Islamic powers for centuries, until they won in triumph and survived. Many Non-Muslims showed history that they would rather die than submit to Islam. These non-Muslims then took measures to redress the Islamic rule of centuries, and in some cases went to the other extreme by forcefully converting Muslims wholesale and/or driving them out forever. What made these countries loathe Islam so much?

In Indonesian History, during the Hindu and Buddhist empires of Srivijaya-Palembang, Sailendra, Majapahit, etc., trade flourished with China and India in a trade so rich, that Indonesia became world famous, being known as the ‘Golden Spice Islands’ and European traders {and later colonizers} flocked in for a share of its wealth. Today, in addition to spices, it is the largest oil and gas exporter, east of the Middle East. Indonesia is also one of the world’s largest exporter of Bauxite, gold, timber, copper, Rubber, Palm oil, tin, guano, iron ore, coal, silver, and a host of raw natural chemicals – mines are everywhere from east to west. Technically, by any reckoning, Indonesia should have continued to be one of the world’s richest countries; and yet since Islam, Indonesia became one of the poorest in the world, with Per capita GDP at US$2,685 {per capita GNP of US$617}. Today, Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world, {214 million}, the Islamic sultans and their Islamic administrations were overthrown and with complete independence in 1949 a civil administration and a secular Government was put in place by the Indonesians themselves, which also does not recognize or apply the Islamic Sharia Laws. Secular Indonesia has a long way to prosperity, and Islam is still holding Indonesia back in other ways. What is shocking is the Australian embassy/consulates’ total figures in Indonesia – every working day an average of 380 Indonesians apply for visas. Out of which, only 1,057 were approved for the whole of 2002; mostly for education and 7-14 day visas for business. The seas in between these two countries are one of the most protected areas in the world, to keep Illegals from Indonesia and other Muslim countries, sneaking into Australia. There is no excuse why Indonesians should flee Indonesia with one of the world’s richest natural wealth. But, in the Islamic context, it is obvious to the rational thinking person, the reason why; and this kind of illegal activities are happening the world over from Islamic countries. {In one incident in June 2002, 487 illegal immigrants - Indonesians, Arabs, Iranians, Afghans, Pakistanis, on a overloaded ship, sank 7 Km. off Flores Island and all died in this ill-fated venture, to illegally sneak into Australia in the darkness of the night. Such is the desperation of Muslims to flee Islamic societies. This is an Islamic paradox - Muslims generally claim Islamic rule to be very good, but at the same time flee from these very Islamic administrations and societies for the non-Islamic – shameless hypocrisy. By fleeing Islamic administrations and societies, Muslims themselves prove abundantly Islam is bad}

But, in the Islamic context also, to successfully nurture their next generation in Islam, will continue to keep Islamic societies in this state of regression, desperation and backwardness, leaving them far behind any other, of different faiths.

Around the 40 or so, Muslim majority countries today, almost all do not use the Islamic Sharia law – why is this so {even the very few which apply Sharia, had customized it (changed) to suit that particular Islamic sect, like the Wahabi and Shia Islamic sects}? If the Islamic Sharia laws are as good as the Muslims claim and rave about, then why are Islamic Countries not applying them? Furthermore, why are there four diverse and dissimilar Islamic Schools of thought for the Islamic Sharia Laws, anyway? For example, a minimum of 2 witnesses is required in the Sunni Islamic sect for a rapist to be convicted, whereas in the Shia Islamic sect, a minimum of 4 witnesses is required. No wonder the worldwide Islamic confusion.

In an overwhelming Muslim majority country, like Turkey; the local Muslim Turkish population led by Kemal Ataturk, in 1924, overthrew the Islamic system of Government Administration and way of life; and completely abolished the Islamic caliphate hierarchy system of Turkey; and instead, established a Non-Muslim democratic republic with civil authority and laws for Turkey. The chief Mufti cursed Ataturk and said Allah will bring his fury on him. Kemal Ataturk, calmly pulled the rope and hung him in public and said, “I couldn’t care less”. Then others were hung, too. Thereafter, Islam had no say of any kind in Turkey. The question many would ask is; why did such a country with almost 90% Muslim population, with a tradition of more than 1,200 years of Islam, overthrow and discard an Islamic system of administration and laws for a non-Islamic system? This is, in spite of Turkey being one of the earliest countries, to embrace Islam, and yet Muslims themselves discarded Islam. Even in an Islamic majority (90%) country, Allah/Muhammad’s Islamic administration and Sharia laws, were discarded.

Iran’s greatest days in history were generally before the arrival of Islam and later, during the Shah of Iran’s rule. Iran’s school history books mostly herald the greatness of Iran’s (Persia’s) pre-Islamic periods.

Before Ayatollah Khomeini declared Iran an Islamic republic in late 1979, the Iranian currency was worth/exchanged 75 Rials to US$1. Today, the exchange rate fluctuates at Rials per US dollar - 6,907 (2002), 8,193.9 (2003), 8,614 (2004), 9,040.26 (2005), an obvious continuing decline in the Islamic Republic’s currency; and the bottom is nowhere in sight. But these are the official exchange rates only, and in reality, no overseas banks accept (will even touch) the Rial currency due to its unpredictability and instability. The Black-market rate stands at around 25,000 Rials to a US$1. Iran has a unicameral Islamic governing Assembly or Majles-e-Shura-ye-Eslami, and an estimated 18 to 20 million Iranians fled (emigrated legally and illegally) out of the country, since the establishment of the Islamic republic of Iran.

The Question in non-Muslim lips are, ‘Why do Muslims risk their lives to flee Islamic societies, which they claim is wonderful and also which they created and established themselves’ – ‘Why do Muslims condemn and criticise non-Muslims and their countries/religions and their way of life, and yet, risk their lives to come to these very non-Muslim societies? By this, don’t some Muslims have a shameless and perverted sense of hypocritical logic? And mind you, they come knowing very well that generally, non-Muslims are of the opinion that Islam is absolute evil.

{Most of the statistics/information given below are from the REUTERS publication of 3/2/06, EU, Britannica Encyclopeadia, historical records and from individual embassies/websites. Muslims will definitely try to discredit some of the figures I quote. But the minor differences inherent from the mentioned sources, are not going to change the overall position, of these countries and the general facts remain}

Philippines – When the Spanish arrived, Philippines was a majority Muslim country, and Islam was well entrenched, and was ruled by various Sultans, from the extreme south, right up to the lower half of the extreme northern Luzon Island {about 5 to 15 degrees north} Villages and towns were governed by Muslim datos {Islamic village/town headmen} Islam, covered 76% of Philippines. The sultan of Sulu was the most famous and powerful of these Sultans. Today, 94% (of the 77 million) of the Philippines are Christian with a small dwindling Muslim population of 4.8% and fast disappearing. In 2002, professional ‘think-tanks’ of the Government, estimated/forecast, that by the year 2020 the Muslim population would dwindle to less than 1%, due to the fast pace of conversions to Christianity. Why did Islam completely fail here?

Israel – {I will not delve in details, but just state my point, because Israel or parts of Israel were captured and recaptured by so many nations – at least 11 times - Some parts of Israel were always changing hands} Israel was the most important place of victory for the Muslims - religion wise. Muhammad, most of his later life, tried very hard to be accepted by the Jews, but each and every time, he was rejected as an Arabic savage. Israel was conquered by the Persians, Arabs and Turks, and held it for hundreds of years, and was fought over many times by others as well. Muslims, who are in Israel today are later Arab immigrants who falsely call themselves Palestinians {The true Palestinians (philistines), before the Roman times, were people who came from around the Aegean Sea (present day Greece and out-lying Islands, like Crete), who were basically Europeans and never had any Arab blood. In other words, the original Palestinians were never Arabs. The Roman conquerors named the whole area of Jordan, the West Bank and Israel as Palestine, to deface any semblance of the Jews/Jewishness. The present day Arabs falsely highjacked the name, Palestine/Palestinians for themselves – Just like the name Allah from Hinduism}. Muslim invaders destroyed and buried entire cities to obliterate any signs of non-Muslim worship, wherever they could. One of the many examples, archeological excavations uncovered, is the town of Acre. The unearthed original town, sitting buried right under the new town above. The Muslim invaders, literally, buried the whole town, with houses, synagogues, churches, chapels, etc, complete with furniture, cooking utensils, household effects, etc, and built their new Islamic town on top of the buried town. This has become a ‘must see’ tourist attraction for the world, the diabolic Islamic inhuman misdeed. Today, 100% of the Jews are non-Muslims. Why did the Jews so thoroughly reject Islam? Why did Islam fail so disastrously among the Jews?

India – The ‘Flowering age’ of the Hindu and Buddhist empires, came to an end slowly until they were completely devoured from the 8th century onwards by Islamic foreign powers. From the 8th century until the 18th century, the Turks, Afghans, Arabs and Mughals {all Muslim invaders} came one after another and held on to large parts of India for a 1,000 years. During this Islamic period, Hindu structures were forcefully destroyed or converted into Mosques and other Islamic structures. The World famous Taj Mahal is one such building, which was originally a Hindu Temple. What they could not destroy or utilize or convert, they buried with earth. Based on manuscripts and records available today of many Hindu structures, some Hindu structures were found to be destroyed and some buried underneath Islamic structures. One Important Hindu temple was the Ram {God} temple in Ayodhia. In 1992 Hindus destroyed the 16th century Babri Mosque situated on top of a hill. Archeological excavations of the ‘hill’ unearthed the buried Hindu Ram Temple beneath the destroyed Babri Mosque, almost completely intact but with mutilated Hindu statues and Hindu artifacts. The documented evidence, archeological reports and photographs produced in the civil High court of Lucknow, proved that the Muslims not only buried the Hindu temple in dirt creating an artificial hill, they also built their mosque on top of it. How vicious and evil can they be? This proved that Muslims, when they take power, they not only wantonly destroy and erase other religious places of worship, but they even bury what they could not destroy.

With the records of other structures available, the Indian Government issued a protective order to protect other mosques from being destroyed in a similar manner to expose the Hindu temples underneath {For more details see ‘the News around the Globe’ dated 15-3-06 in this website. Do you also think any Islamic country in this world will reciprocate and offer such protection for non-Islamic places of worship; and this is in spite of the Hindu temple being buried under the Mosque and many others converted to Mosques in India according to annals of Hindu documents}. The Muslims have no shame to ‘Squat’ on top of other religious buildings.

Among the many buildings, structures, non-Muslim places destroyed and for which records are available today, are the famous Buddhist city, 11 km north of the present city of Varanasi. This sprawling area of Lord Buddha’s one time place of worship/residence was a centre of Buddhist life, learning, meditation, retreat and worship. The Indian Buddhist Maharaja (Emperor) Asoka, built temples, monasteries, eateries, Stupas, Bathing areas, workshops, and so many other buildings, gardens, parks, etc, during his reign from around 265B.C. to 238 B.C. This whole area (about 4Km by 4Km) was wantonly destroyed right down to the ground and left to waste/ruins by the Muslim Mughal Dynasty. Practically nothing was left standing. It was a wanton desecration of non-Muslim religious buildings, prayer tablets, idols and artifacts. Today, with UN sponsorship, the Japanese Govt, Taiwan Buddhist Associations and the Indian government’s Heritage Department, have managed to piece together one Stupa and a few blocks, pillars and floors, so far. The work could take two or three decades according to UN experts, but unfortunately, many of the statues, stones, idols, etc have been wantonly mutilated so badly and some smashed to dust and lost forever. Today, it is a famous Tourist attraction, especially for visiting Buddhists from China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, etc. Such is the vicious crimes of these Muslims.

In spite of such destructive, evil, disrespectful, wanton desecration, and sacrilegious actions of the Muslims; Hinduism triumphed in India eventually, and Islam failed to convert the majority of Hindus over the 1,000 years the Muslims were in power {i.e. about 70% of ‘British India’ (including Pakistan and Bangla Desh); and present day India (1.12 billion) triumphed with 83.5% Hindus against Islam’s 10.7%, (Christians, Buddhists, others 5.8%). These figures do not include the Hindus of Nepal, and the Buddhists of Bhutan but includes the Buddhists of Ladakh in the north of ‘Jammu And Kashmir’ State}. This is in spite of centuries of Islam and Islamic rule, and yet with such credible Hindu figures. Why did Islam fail so miserably in India? The former Deputy Prime Minister of India said in 1998, “We could not accept an evil hypothesis, which degrades human life to animal status. We treasure human life.”

{Note: Many people think of Kashmir as one state of India – Even the media say so. There is no such ‘state of Kashmir’ in existence, in the past or present. From the British period, 100s of years ago, this state was officially and always known as ‘Jammu and Kashmir’ State, ruled by a Maharaja (Emperor) with British protection, and was separately administered from ‘British India’. In 1947 the Maharaja was shocked when independent Pakistan invaded it and that prompted the Maharaja to take his state officially to join secular India. Today, Pakistan holds 1/3rd and India holds 2/3rd of Jammu and Kashmir State. The main town of Kashmir, Srinagar, was used by the British and still used by the present Indian state and central Governments only during the 6 months of summer and autumn (summer capital). Before 1990, with 600,000 Indian and 70,000 foreign tourists a year, the locals benefited from tourism, but with the Islamic militancy, no tourist come to the Kashmir valley part and the locals, (mainly Muslims) are driven to near starvation diets. In the winter and spring, (Srinagar is completely cut off from the rest of India because of the Himalayan snow except for two road tunnels), the state and Central administration was and still is in Jammu city for 6 months (winter capital), effectively making Srinagar, impractical, with the Himalayan weather. Jammu and Kashmir State is basically made up of 3 regions. The Buddhists, mainly inhabit Ladakh in the north. The south/west is the Kashmir valley, and mainly Muslims and the south/east is the Jammu region, centred in Jammu city, mainly Hindus. There is no single religion, which makes up the majority in the State of ‘Jammu and Kashmir’. What Pakistan is claiming is to carve out the Muslim part (Kashmir valley) out of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This cautions the outside world that if any part of any country is with a majority Muslim population, the Muslims will start demanding that territory carved out of the country, solely for them.}

Spain and Portugal – In 711 A.D. the Muslim Moors of North Africa, with a 12,000 strong army, invaded and captured Southern Spain. The ill prepared 3,000 Spanish troops under King Roderick were outnumbered and was easily defeated {Spanish troops who fell to the ground with injuries, were immediately beheaded, as they lay wounded on the ground}. In 714 the Muslim Moors attacked Leon and Galicia in the north and took it. By 715 A.D. the whole of the Iberian Peninsula {including Portugal} was taken over in a brutal and bloody annexation. Muslim administration was strictly imposed. Christian churches were converted to mosques and the Muslims began their Islamisation of Spain and Portugal, and went full-scale trying to convert the resistant Christians {Just like earlier in Syria, Churches were similarly converted to mosques and the famous Church of St. John the Baptist was converted by Caliph Al-Walid to the important Omayyad Mosque of Damascus, as it is called today – The Muslims have no shame to steal and use Christian churches as their mosques}. Various Caliphs of the Muslim Omayyad Dynasty ruled Islamic Spain and Portugal with an Islamic ‘iron fist’.

In 1027 to 1031, the Muslim Omayyad Dynasty slowly came to an end from internal in-fighting and the periodic Christian up-risings, weakening their rule. In 1031, the Arab Muslims from Morocco attacked the moors in southern Spain (Cordova) and defeated the remnants of the Omayyad splinter group and held only the southern enclave of Cordova till the 15 century, when they too were completely driven out of Spain {It was said that “Wine, women and song brought the death of Islam in Spain”}. So, from 711 A.D. to 1492, {for 781 years, between the Muslims stepping in and stepping out}, when the last Muslims, who held the Southern Cordova region, were driven out of Spain completely at last, Islam completely failed to survive.

The Britannica Encyclopeadia gave the official religious affiliations of Spain in 1960, as Roman Catholic – 31,200,000; Protestants – 43,000; Jewish – 5,000 {no mention of any Muslims in Spain}. But since the EU rules on asylum seekers, some Muslims have been let in and it stands at less than 0.4% and the Catholic Digest of Spain (2003) gave an average annual conversion rate of Muslims to Catholism at 10,630 {almost a 1,000 a month}

In Portugal the religious affiliation stated for 1990 is Roman Catholic 99.4% and others 0.6% {this ‘others’ could be entirely made up of Protestants} out of a total population of over 11 million. {As for the whole of the western European countries today, France at 5.98% is with Muslim residents; Germany at 2.89%; Britain at 1.48%; Italy at 1.37% are Muslims and the rest are, Switzerland at 0.23%, Belgium at 0.37%, Netherlands 0.87%, Denmark at 0.16%, Sweden at 0.28%, Finland 0.01% and Norway at 0.05%. The point I am making here is that with so few Muslims around; and yet they are responsible for so much destabilization, terrorism and dissatisfaction caused to the Majority population – think about it. Is it worth it?}. But since 9/11, 7/7, and the Madrid suicide bombings, this inflow of Muslims have been almost completely stopped by all EU countries, including the new EU members. In other words, the Muslim population in EU can only dwindle downwards with conversions. So the future could look brighter without many Muslims around.

{I have to admit, that on the flip side, during this Omayyad period of power, the knowledge the Arabs gained from their previous Indian empire, encompassing the Middle East, of the Candragupta Maharaja/s of India, who initially brought to the Middle East - Philosophy, Medicine, Mathematics, Astronomy, Literature, the Indian numerals [Europeans, initially called the Indian numerals, Arab numerals, because the Europeans thought they were the inventions of the Arabs – see encyclopeadia], the Arts, science, etc. In addition to the stimulus the Arabs derived from the Hellenic contributions, Islamic culture was greatly enlightened by contacts with India. Indians, who introduced astronomical work “Sindhind” to the Arabs, also taught them symbols and numbers (present numbers I to 9 and Zero) and higher Mathematics such as Algebra, and the decimal system – Hindu knowledge had evolved from 1,500 B.C. – See the article ‘the invention of Islam’. This had a far-reaching impact on the Europeans as a whole. So as transmitters of knowledge, at least some good did come to Europe from this nearly eight centuries of Islamic occupation of Spain and Portugal.}

Bulgaria – By the end of the 14th century, the Muslim Turks of the Ottoman Empire took over Bulgaria. ‘Bulgarian Horrors’ – This notorious suppression of the Bulgarian up-rising for independence, was brutally put down by the Turks in 1876 and came to be known as the ‘Bulgarian Horrors’ where hundreds of thousands of Bulgarians were slaughtered. When Bulgarians were injured and fell to the ground, they were slaughtered like chickens. In 1908, the Bulgarians at last took control of Bulgaria. Today, Bulgaria with a total population of 7.45 million (2,005 est.) with some of the Turkish race, left behind, numbering about 9.4% and out of which less than 0.1% are actual practicing Muslims. This is because the half-century of communism in Bulgaria, made sure that no religion was practiced, mosques, churches, etc were converted into warehouses, workshops, etc and Islam soon faded away from memory. The Muslim Turks (Ottoman) controlled Bulgaria from about 1392 to 1908 {516 years}. For these 516 years, the result is a fast-dwindled Muslim population. Why is this so?

Romania – {aka Rumania} – Romania was part of the Ottoman Empire from about 1398 to 1878. Even during the Communist occupation, Christianity was so well entrenched that the Church was given due recognition. After about 480 years of Muslim occupation, the official statistics do not account for any Muslim statistics, as the population is almost entirely Christian (100%). Why did Islam completely fail and disappear in Romania?

Yugoslavia – {Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia - these are all independent countries now, which belonged to the former Yugoslavia at one time}. Some of these states were also part of the Ottoman Empire. Serbia fell to the Ottoman Empire in 1459 until a major part was taken back in 1557 and was ruled by the Serbian patriarchate, until the 1739 when the Turks were completely pushed out of Serbia. Montenegro, was frequently attacked by the Ottoman Empire’s forces, {but was never successful, each time, as it is said that the smaller number of people of Montenegro defended their territory against the mighty forces of the Ottoman Empire by carrying and applying pork lard on themselves and on their weapons against the larger Turkish forces – but I cannot verify this as a historical fact, but is commonly told for generations}. Bosnia Herzegovina was part of the Ottoman Empire from around 1463 to 1908. Macedonia was also part of the Ottoman Empire. The highest concentration of Muslims today are in Bosnia Herzegovina at 37% out of a total population of 4.025 million {but these Bulgarian speaking Muslims do not call themselves ‘Muslims’ but only as ‘Bosniaks’ and generally do not practice Islam – they are more ‘Europeanized’}, Serbia at less than 1.6% and Macedonia at 2.6% Muslims, shows the failure evidently. For the rest of the countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro) there are no Muslims significant enough, to publish their figures. Here too it is clear that Islam failed.

Hungary – Around the 1550s the Turks managed to take most of Hungary (Central and Southern regions) and incorporated it into the Ottoman Empire. From 1683-1699 the Muslims were slowly driven out of Hungary, After the Muslims occupied Hungary for nearly 150 years; there is no official statistics of any Muslim here {the ‘slate’ is clean}. Islam completely failed in Hungary too.

Lebanon – I included Lebanon, though the Muslim population is at present 59.2% and the Christian population at 40%; Islam is considered to have failed here. After the Byzantine period from the 1453 onwards, Lebanon was ruled by Muslims starting with the Ottoman empire, (except for a brief period of European colonizers). So for Hundreds of years Islam reigned supreme in Lebanon. The total population of 4.3 million in the 1970s was reduced to the present 3.8 million, with mainly an exodus of Christians emigrating to the West, due to the long drawn out civil war for two decades. So in actual fact, if these 500 thousand were taken into account, Islam has failed here too. The influx of the 395,000 Palestian refugees into Lebanon, driven out of Jordan by King Hussein, added to this imbalance, so in actual fact, nearly 900 thousand Lebanese have left the country, most of them, non-Muslims. So you can now see, that Islam failed here too.

Greece – Greece was part of the Ottoman Empire from 1453 to 1829. Capturing Greece was a “pearl’ for the Ottoman Empire, because of its advanced culture, philosophy, literature, poetry, science, medicine, sports, etc. After 1929 independent Greece became stronger and recaptured many out-lying Islands; mostly Greek-speaking Islands and a few Turkish-speaking Islands from Turkey within 1 to 5 Km. from the Turkish mainland. Although Greece was under the control of the Muslims for 374 years, the present Muslim population of 1.3% says, Islam failed miserably in Greece too.

Thailand – Around 1750 A.D., about 19 provinces south of Bangkok were with a majority Muslim population (estimates rage anywhere from 8 to 14 million Muslims lived in these 19 provinces). There were powerful Islamic Sultanates who ruled in these territories at one time. The 2,000 census, show there are only 3 provinces tucked away in the extreme southern corner, with a Muslim Majority, in a country of 71.9 million, with 90.6% Buddhists in the total 76 provinces of Thailand. The official Muslim population of the whole of Thailand in 2,000 was 3.8 million and fading fast (less than the number of the growing (4.2 m) Christian population in 2,000). Projected figures show that even in these 3 provinces, Muslims will become a minority around 2015 at the going rate. Why is Islam failing so fast in Thailand?

Other countries or part of the country, which Islamic powers conquered and failed, were parts of France, Italy, etc, and were driven out. {Muslims who are residents/citizens in these countries today are those who were allowed in, in the last few decades, as asylum seekers, Illegal immigrants, etc. under EU rules}

The main reason for Islam’s failure in the above-mentioned countries; could surely be in their Quran. The Quran is a book of an imperfect scripture (with errors, contradictions, irrational assumptions, historical inaccuracies and absurdities, with only 114 chapters against the Bible’s 1,189 chapters). The chapters of the Quran are not arranged in importance, continuity, holiness, biography, chronology, significance or sequence of any sort, but are arranged simply by length - the longest chapter, followed by the next longest chapter and the last chapter with just 6 lines. Thus, the first half of the Quran accounts for only 20 chapters, and the second half accounts for 94 chapters (of total 114 chapters). There is no correlation between chapters. Verses are disorderly arranged and jumbled up in unrelated subjects/topics. The majority of the prophets mentioned in the Bible are not in the Quran (simply missing). The Total number of verses in a Quran can vary. In other words, all Qurans are not exactly the same. That is why different Islamic sects give different total number of Sura (verses), from 6,241 to 6,666 verses (Islamic websites quote different figures too – all these Quran figures could be correct, based on their own Islamic sect’s Quran).

Christians will be horrified to know that there is no prophecy, no chronology, no geography, no biography of anybody (not even Muhammad), no ministry, no history, no proverbs, no parables, no miracles, no psalms, no sequence of any sort in the Quran; and generally is just do’s and don’t, more or less similar to an instruction manual of a vacuum cleaner; and with punitive punishments, reprisals and rewards specified. In stark contrast, the Bible is the only religious scripture in this entire world (which contains everything the Quran does not have, as mentioned above) and which begins chronologically with the creation of the universe and the human race; and ends with the universe and the human race. No other religious Scripture, anywhere in this world, can categorically state such a Complete Testimony of the universe and the human race and that too in an accurate chronological setting from the beginning to the end. Therefore, in my opinion, the tremendous inadequacies of the Quran could possibly be one reason for their failure.

Another reason could be in the inhuman Quranic Doctrine. The Quran demands Muslims to kill non-Muslims “wherever you find them”. “Smite non-Muslims’ neck and fingers before killing them” (just for being non-believers of Islam, irrespective of race, language, creed, colour, and weather man, woman or child), “deceive and plot against non-Muslims”, “slay infidels (kill non-Muslims)”, “do not take orders from non-Muslims”, “Muslims are not to be friends of non-Muslims”; the list is long and could be found in the Article, “Is Islam Practical?” The Quran cannot possibly be from a ‘Real True God’ to any rationally thinking person; but surely a doctrine inspired by Satan?

Finally, is it not evident that roughly, more than a billion people around this world, having already experienced Islam/Allah/Muhammad, fought against it and discarded it for a good reason? Islam’s demise is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’, as the process of its demise started with the advent of the media, IT, etc, and got speeded up exponentially, after 9/11. (Also see article in this website, “Islam in fast Demise”)

How does the Qur’an compare to the Book of Genesis on the great events of history?
Creation, Fall, Flood and confusion of languages

The differences between the Qur’an and the Bible are massive, beginning with the foundational history of Genesis, upon which the Gospel is squarely based.

The Bible teaches of a God of love for whom death and suffering were not a part of His original creation; sin caused the world to fall from original perfection.

By contrast, and in common with theistic evolutionary corruptions of Bible doctrine, the Qur’anic view of death and suffering has them as intrinsic to creation, a natural part of the way things are.

Not surprisingly, therefore, the worldview of Islam leads to a radically different understanding of the nature of God, humanity, salvation and the world in general. This must affect not merely the stance of individuals, but entire cultures.

[Comparison tables: Creation, the Fall, Flood, Babel]

“My name is Muhammad,” the young man said to a fellow student at university in Australia. “Muhammad?”, she replied, “Where have I heard that before?”

After he, a Muslim, explained that Muhammad[1] is the name of the “Great Prophet” of Islam, the young lady, raised in a church-going family, asked about the differences between Islam and Christianity.

The Muslim man explained that probably the most fundamental differences is that the Qur’an [2] speaks of Jesus as a prophet-definitely not the Son of God.

That evening, the Australian-born student told her father of the encounter, and asked, “Dad, I’ve been thinking… our bodies are unclean! Why would God, who is pure, sully himself by coming down to Earth in human form?”

[Learn why God greatly humbled himself]

After her father failed to give a reasoned answer, she turned her back on the church, converted to Islam and later married a Muslim. [3]

Such a question requires only a basic understanding of the Atonement to answer. Salvation required a sacrificial “last Adam” (I Cor. 15:45) to shed His blood in death, one who was a descendant of the first, yet sinless. This could be fulfilled only through God incarnate, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 9:12, 22).

Notice, though, how all this is built upon the foundational Genesis truths of the first Adam bringing in sin and death, and the first shedding of blood as a covering for sin (Genesis 3:21). The increasing confusion caused in the church by long-age compromises (which, by putting suffering, death and bloodshed before Adam, undermines these truths) is a major reason why so many today cannot give reasoned answers to basic Gospel-related questions (contravening 1 Peter 3:15). This leaves young people in the church vulnerable to being tossed by winds of false doctrine (Ephesians 4:14).

Following September 11, the increased prominence of Islam in the media, and public declarations by government (and many church) leaders that Islam is a “great” religion, will likely raise further questions in the minds of many young people in the churches (e.g., “Do Jews, Christians and Muslims worship the same God?” / “What does the Qur’an say about the Bible?” / For Christians: What does Islam teach about the crucifixion of Jesus? / For Muslims: What does the Qur’an say about Isa al Masih (Jesus)?).

Many Christian commentators have sought to raise awareness of fundamental doctrinal differences between the Qur’an and the Bible (see charts below), but few people are aware of how the Muslim’s holy book starkly contradicts the Bible’s account of our origins.

Creation, The Fall, Flood and Babel

Genesis provides a unified description of Creation; the Qur’an does not. Instead, fragmented passages are scattered across many of its 114 chapters (“Sura”). The tables below attempt to assimilate these fragments for a clearer picture of what the Qur’an says, compared to the Bible.

The many contradictions highlighted in these tables surely demolish any claims that the “revelation” given to Muhammad is not a corruption of, but reliably builds upon, Judeo-Christian history.

For instance, the Qur’anic account prohibits Adam from going anywhere near the Forbidden Tree, while Genesis says that God only commanded Adam not to eat its fruit. (Man had been placed in the garden to tend it (Genesis 2:15), which seems to require physical access to each tree for e.g. pruning.)

Interestingly, the Bible relates that Eve, who was deceived (I Timothy 2:14), had misconstrued God’s instruction to not eat of the fruit from the tree to instead also mean not to touch it (Genesis 3:3). Yet Eve’s distorted view, obviously wrong, is portrayed as truth in the Qur’an.

The Biblical account of origins also makes more sense of today’s world than does the Qur’an—e.g. the presence of sin, violence, death and the origin of languages (and concomitant minor “racial” differences). The Bible explains why the whole creation is so obviously groaning, in bondage to decay (Romans 8:19-22). In contrast, the Qur’an makes God responsible for death and suffering, in common with long-age and evolutionary Christian views, and Eastern religions.

CREATION
Key differences between the Bible and the Qur’an
The Bible says: The Qur’an says:
Man was created on Earth, in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:8) Man was created in Paradise (“janna”)1, not on Earth (first couple later banished to Earth, e.g. Qur’an 2:36).
The Bible describes clearly what was made on each day of Creation Week. The “Big Bang” is excluded by this sequence (e.g. Earth before Sun). No clear details of each creation day. Some vague clustering of the days in 41:9-12.2
Creation in 6 days which are clearly Earth-rotation days (c. 24 hours). Creation also in 6 days2 but could easily be interpreted as “millions of years” (see main text).
Man and the animals were created vegetarian (Genesis 1:29-30). No death and suffering in the original creation. Carnivory (and thus death and suffering) apparently integral to life on the created Earth from the first. The Qur’an (6:142, 16:5, 40:79) says that cattle were created for man to eat.
Man was created naked (but not ashamed—Genesis 2:25). The Qur’an speaks of Adam’s (and his wife’s) nakedness becoming apparent to them after they sinned (20:121; also implied by 7:22), yet also implies that they were wearing some kind of raiment prior to the Fall (Qur’an 7:273).
All things were created through Christ and for Christ. He was preexistent to Creation (e.g. Genesis 1:26; 3:22, 11:7; Michah 5:2; John 1:1-3, 10; 3:13; 6:62; 8:35, 58; 17:5, 24; Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:2). Jesus Christ was a created being. Qur’an 3:59 “The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; he created him from dust…”

References and notes

  1. Muslims previously never questioned that the Qur’anic janna (“paradise”) in which man was created was not on Earth. But evolutionary pressure has led to many (not all) Muslim scholars today claiming that the Qur’anic pre-Fall garden was on Earth.
  2. Some critics quote 41:9-12 as giving a contradictory total of eight days, but Muslim apologists explain this away by making two days concurrent: Qur’an 41:9-12 “Say: 'Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two Days?… He set on the (earth) mountains standing firm, high above it, and bestowed blessings on the earth… in four days… So he completed them as seven firmanents in two Days.”
  3. “O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as he got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of the raiment, to expose their shame…”

The Qur’an and evolution

With the increased adoption of evolutionary-based curricula, some Muslim leaders and scholars began to recognize the threat to Islam from a rising tide of evolutionary thinking. Their response had been either to attack evolution, or, more commonly, to blend it with Islam.

CORRUPTION (The Fall of man)
Key differences between the Bible and the Qur’an

The Bible says: The Qur’an says:
Prior to sin, Adam and Eve given free access to fruit of the “Tree of Life” (Genesis 2:9, 16-17) The “Tree of Eternity” (equated with giving eternal life in 7:20, hence comparable to the Biblical Tree of Life) was the Forbidden Tree (20:120).
Forbidden tree clearly identified as “Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.” “And the Lord God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.'” (Genesis 2:16-17) No mention of the name “Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.” Qur’an 7:19 “O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye wish: But approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression.” (Also 2:34)
Snake/serpent in Eden (Genesis 3). No mention of snake or serpent in the Qur’an (except a reference to Moses' stick-to-snake transformation).
The serpent enticed Eve, denying she would die. (Genesis 3:1-5)

“'You will not surely die,' the serpent said to the woman. 'For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.'”

Satan enticed Adam and his wife. Qur’an 20:120 “But Satan whispered evil to him: He said, 'O Adam! Shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity1 and to a kingdom that never decays?'” Qur’an 7:20-21 “Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them … He said: 'Your Lord only forbade you this tree, lest ye should become angels or such beings as live forever.'”
“The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and Eve, and clothed them.” (Genesis 3:21) “Raiment” mentioned, but no mention of skin (Qur’an 7:26).
After the Fall, Adam and Eve still on Earth, but barred from Eden (Genesis 3:23-24). Adam and Eve were shifted from Paradise (not on Earth) down to Earth (7:24, also 2:36).
After the Fall, man will now eat “through painful toil” and (as a result of the Curse on the land) “by sweat of your brow” (Genesis 3:17, 19) Toil and sweat were an integral part of the original created Earth. Qur’an 90:4 “Verily We have created man to toil and struggle.”
Death is an “enemy”, that entered after Adam sinned. (Genesis 2:17; 3:19; Romans 5:12, 17; I Corinthians 15:21-22, 26) No references in the Qur’an to death being an “enemy”, or anything other than an integral part of the original created Earth.
Ground now “cursed”; the whole creation now “groaning”, in “bondage to decay”. (Genesis 3:17; Romans 8:20-22; Revelation 22:3). Apparently, the “bad things” are not a consequence of the Fall, but integral to the original Creation.

1. The Islamic creationists

The creationist Muslims claim that “The theory [of evolution] and the holy Qur’an are in direct conflict with each other and no compatibility is possible anywhere.”4 New Scientist reported that Islamic creationist books city and copy Christian creationists, but with Biblical references deleted.[ 5]

2. The Islamic evolutionists

Evolution-believing Muslims seem to be far more numerous, and vocal, than creationist Muslims.

They have a substantial strategic advantage precisely because the Qur’an is so vague, nebulous and seemingly open to various interpretations.[6] They delight in pointing out that, in contrast, “There is absolutely no ambiguity whatsoever in the Biblical description of the Creation in six days followed by a day of rest, the sabbath, analogous with the days of the week.”[7] These evolution-accommodating Muslims are adamant that the “days” of Creation in the Qur’an “mean in reality 'very long Periods, or Ages, or Aeons.'”7]

Muslim apologists gleefully point out that the Qur’an is compatible with evolution where the Bible is not, e.g.: “Neither here nor anywhere else in the Holy Qur’an is it affirmed that Adam was the first man, or that there was no creation by God before Adam, nor that Adam lived or man was created, or the earth made, only six thousand years ago.”[8,9]

Long-age Muslims exploit the Bible’s explicit detail of the Flood, too. They say that because the Bible clearly says there was a recent global Flood, while “science” says there was not, the Bible is wrong and the Qur’an is thus confirmed to be right![10] Some of the Muslim literature even claims that the Qur’an shows that Allah revealed to Muhammad details about the “big bang”, ancient universe and evolution long before scientists began to “discover” such “facts”.[11]

CATASTROPHE (Noah’s Flood)
Key differences between the Bible and the Qur’an
The Bible says: The Qur’an says:
Noah was the tenth generation from Adam (Genesis 5:3-32; Luke 3:36-38). Other Biblical genealogies allow us to date the Flood to around 4,300 years ago. No clear genealogies are given.
Ark was sealed with “pitch” (possibly tree resin1--Genesis 6:14). Ark caulked with palm fibre (Qur’an 54:13-14).
Bible gives Ark dimensions (Genesis 6:14-16). No mention of Ark size.
Duration of rain (40 days/nights), time afloat (150 days), total duration (370 days) of Flood (Genesis 7:12, 24; 8:4, 14). No mention of any time periods for the Flood.
Eight people survived the Flood (1 Peter 3:20), i.e. all of Noah’s family (Genesis 7:1, 7) The number on board is not mentioned. The Qur’an claims one of Noah’s sons was drowned (11:42-43), and puts a question mark over whether Noah’s wife survived (66:10, 11:40).2
Man granted permission to eat meat after the Flood (Genesis 9:3). Man ate meat on Earth from the beginning (6:142, 16:5, 40:79).
“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.… Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.” (Genesis 9:11-17) There is no mention of the rainbow, or its significance, anywhere in the Qur’an.

Christian awareness

In the same way that being aware of evolutionary challenges to our faith helps us to be ready with answers,12 so, too, we need to be aware of what religions, including Islam, actually say, in order to be better prepared to answer our children’s questions.[13] When men teach things that are contrary to the Bible, we are commanded to actively oppose such ideas (2 Corinthians 10:5). Christians need to be ready to help guide young people through the kinds of “intellectual crisis of faith” that many confront in their teenage years--whether because of exposure to evolutionary teaching, or to other religions.

Knowing that the Word of God accurately explains our world ahead of all opposing ideas not only strengthens our own faith, but gives us the confidence to reach out in love to challenges--including Muslims.

Using Genesis to reach Muslims?

Just as the Apostle Paul used Athenian beliefs to draw his Greek listeners to the truth of the Gospel (Acts 17:22-23, 28), Christians could use a similar approach when talking with Muslims. One could start by reminding the Muslim that the Qur’an says that the Scriptures of Jews and Christians were given by God, e.g. Qur’an 2:87--“We gave Moses the Book and followed him up with a succession of Apostles; We gave Jesus the son of Mary clear (signs) and strengthened him with the Holy Spirit.” Similarly, in Qur’an 6:91, the Book given to Moses is described as “a light and guidance to man…”

So why so many irreconcilable differences between Genesis 1-11 and the Qur’an? A Muslim might say that today’s copies of the Bible have been corrupted. But the earliest Biblical manuscripts (e.g. in the British Museum[14]) date from before Muhammad, demonstrating the reliability of our current copies.

A further challenge for the Muslim would concern the presence of death, suffering, grief, etc. in the world. Consider the following exchange between American TV host Larry King and Georgetown University’s Islamic professor of theology, Maysam Al-Faruqe:

Copyrighted. All rights reserved.

KING: Maysam, if you believe in heaven and paradise, then dying is good?
AL-FARUQI: Absolutely. And dying is perfectly natural, it’s the end of things.
KING: Why do we treat it tragically?…
AL-FARUQI: Well, there is the pain…[15]

So in this Muslim (also theistic evolutionary) view of death as “perfectly natural,” why grieve and wail at the death of a loved one? The Islamic professor’s answer, “Well, there is the pain…” begs the question: “So pain and suffering are a “natural” par of God’s good (Qur’an 32:7) creation, too?” Clearly, Muslims have no satisfactory answer.

But the Bible explains that death, violence, pain and decay entered a once-perfect Creation as a result of Adam’s sin in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:17, 3:19; Romans 5:12-17; 8:19-22; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22). Thankfully, this situation is only temporary, as God gave his Son, Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity, that those who believe in Him can look forward to the coming operation, to a world with “no more death, mourning, crying or pain”, i.e. no more Genesis Curse (John 1:18, 3:16; Acts 3:21; Revelation 21:4, 22:3).

CONFUSION (Origin of languages)
Key differences between the Bible and the Qur’an

The Bible says: The Qur’an says:
Before God confused the tongues at Babel, the whole world had one language and a common speech (Genesis 11:1-9). No mention of there ever being a single common language, or of the Tower of Babel.
After being scattered from Babel, people congregated into clans and nations, each with their own languages (Genesis 10:5, 20, 31). Regarding the different languages, the Qur’an (30:22) says: “And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colors…”

In conclusion

Muslims claim to respect Jesus and other Biblical figures, which has caused many to think Islam may be an “additional” revelation from the Creator, building upon a Biblical foundation. However, the differences between the Qur’an and the Bible are massive, beginning with the foundational history of Genesis, upon which the Gospel is squarely based. This evidence is consistent with the Christian claim that the Bible is the Creator’s truthful, sole revelation, and that the Qur’an, despite some superficial resemblances, is a radical departure from its teaching.
